Taylor coming on, amazed we aren't dropping Hendrick into midfield and bringing Barnes on

I know its 1-1 but I don't think I have ever seen a Premier league side hoof the ball up the field to nobody so much as we have this first twenty mins

Sod’s law, that’s what happens when you don’t make a great effort to retain Arfield, lose N’Koudou and sign no wingers.

If we'd signed a winger on top of signing Hart, Gibson and Vydra then it would have been a good window for me. As it was, it was satisfactory.Vegas Claret wrote:there can't be anyone who says we had a good window whilst keeping a straight face

For all the moaners we go with what we got, at least Taylor has a left foot.

Re: One F in versus MIGHTY CLARETS
Why? because I question the rubbish we are continually being fed regards transfers. When will people see we are being used by MG....he spends bare minimum every window....yet if a bid comes in for one of our players we sell every time.Burnley Ace wrote:That’s the best you can come up with. Pulled up when jogging.
Hopefully just a little tweak and off as a precaution. Didn't look too bad

Hart hoofs it long and it's with Fulham's keeper again. Sigh.

I must be on the wrong thread, thought it was about the match, not about our transfer window

said it since the first games that JBG isn't fit. Think this is an ongoing issue but due to our terrible window he is being forced to playGranny WeatherWax wrote:Didn’t look good, very innocuous, quick feel of his knee and off he goes.

That's fair enough, it's when words like amateurish get used that I think it goes too far.Vegas Claret wrote:there can't be anyone who says we had a good window whilst keeping a straight face
The sending of those emails regarding availability of players a few years ago is the most amateurish we've been since the 1980s.

Re: One F in versus MIGHTY CLARETS
because no transfer window ever had a bearing on how a team lines up and performs.......Bigvince wrote:I must be on the wrong thread, thought it was about the match, not about our transfer window
Match update for you though - Fulham passing it way better than we are, we are trying to hit them on the break, 72% v 28% possession stats, looks to be raining

I do like the look of Taylor. Think we have a perfect replacement for Ward. Will have the shirt by season end
Re: One F in versus MIGHTY CLARETS
Getting very much a 16/17 season away game feel here. As in, getting passed to death and then launching it.

I'm aware of that. Just thought some people might be interested to hear that stat. Hadn't realised it was quite that high (though I did miss the first few mins).Granny WeatherWax wrote:So. We don’t set up to play possession football. Never have under dyche

Re: One F in versus MIGHTY CLARETS
do we spend any time on the training ground practicing throw ins. Every time we look devoid of ideas and look happy to give the other team the ball back as soon as possible

Re: One F in versus MIGHTY CLARETS
Fosu-Mensah has got passed Charlie Taylor twice already without so much of a hint of a challenge from our boy - he needs to seriously improve if he wants to play in the PL, I know he hasn't played much but that is basic stuff for the way we play.
We have a similar problem to the Watford second half at the moment, Hendrick and Wood are so far apart they are both isolated

Re: One F in versus MIGHTY CLARETS
Fulham slicing through us easy but lack a killer punch thankfully. We don't seem to have much other than hoofing it. Taylor few crap passes and easily dispossessed . Wards shirt ? No way

Would help if Wood could win a header
Re: One F in versus MIGHTY CLARETS
We really miss Defour and Brady. They were key to our success in the first half of last season. Once they got injured our form dropped off significantly.

Re: One F in versus MIGHTY CLARETS
Barnes is best option with this formation when we don't have any possession. the amount of fouls he draws is unreal and always relieves the pressure and stops the other team building up any tempo
