Will he be chucked in at the deep end now? Or will we pursue with Taylor/ Hendrick our wide.

Obviously if Gudmundsson is out for a few weeks.

Probably Barnes.

No way he will be put in. If he cant make the bench today when we have no other midfielders or wingers available then to me he has no chance. I can half understand it with McNeil but for Walters to not even be on the bench something is wrong

Walts. Not the time for youth, we need experienced pros. Walts is ready to play football.

Makes you wonder why we couldn’t bring him in given he has gone to Villa. Perhaps Everton didn’t want to loan him to a rival and we couldn’t afford to buy him.

Yes but because he fell out with Dyche last season about his lack of playing time he has no way back. Becoming a similar story this now. Listen to interviews from Arfield, Marney, Long and Walters tweets and all is not happy in the camp

The line Everton came out with was that they didnt want to subsidise 50% of his wages which we expected of them (didnt name a club but obviously talking about us as it was when it came out our interest had ended)

If that’s the case then I’m surprised he went to Villa given the financial mess they are in.

They are not in a financial mess now, only transfer embargos

I would rather start McNeil than play someone out of position

They have a new investor with a bottomless pit and Jorge Mendes conducting their transfer business. Hence this week the new megabucks contract offer for Grealish to stay
