Best Hotel Guest House in the Burnley area
Best Hotel Guest House in the Burnley area
Contrary to the advice of my new life coach on UTC I’m thinking of coming over for the Huddersfield match and was wondering which is a good option for accommodations , I normally stay at the Premier Inn but was thinking of somewhere different.
Thanks in advance

The Ormerod guest house was perfectly serviceable, however obviously its prone to selling out

Re: Best Hotel Guest House in the Burnley area
I have tried most of them.. but reluctant to say my favourites in case I can’t get in next time!
If you are prepared to go beyond the Burnley boundary you will find plenty more options..eg -
Dunkenhalgh, FenceGate,..
I prefer..all things considered - price, cleanliness, location, parking, breakfast, bar...
Holiday Inn Express
Oaks
Rosehill House
Queen Vic Premier Inn (ta).
cheers.

Book yourself into the Worsthorne Four in a Bed winner BnB. You've good beer in the village pubs. Plus the Crooked Illet runs cheap transport to and from the game+ pie and peas back at the pub after.
Re: Best Hotel Guest House in the Burnley area
That should've read Crooked Billet pub.

What's that new posh place that's opened/opening in Padiham?
Re: Best Hotel Guest House in the Burnley area
I came over for the Aberdeen match and all my usual places close to the Turf were fully booked. I stayed at Sparth House Hotel in Clayton-le-Moors and found it to be excellent: clean, friendly, nice area. A bit out of the way and had to take a taxi to Burnley for the match but was lucky enough to travel back with Accy Clarets by minivan

Our friends from Northern Ireland stayed at The Lawrence Hotel Padiham when they came for the Aberdeen game they really rated it. Or The Grain Barn farm at Fence

4 in a bed I’m up for 3 , but 4 is pushing it at my ageBfc wrote:Book yourself into the Worsthorne Four in a Bed winner BnB. You've good beer in the village pubs. Plus the Crooked Illet runs cheap transport to and from the game+ pie and peas back at the pub after.
Re: Best Hotel Guest House in the Burnley area
Joey13, after a few pints of the local beers, you’ll manage four in a bed.
Re: Best Hotel Guest House in the Burnley area
Thanks for the suggestions, They were very helpful at Worsthorne so that’s looking favourite at the moment

Holiday inn express is pretty good. And you can walk to turf Moor from there. Rosehill house is supposed to be good.

Agree with Holiday Inn, we stay there for the games but it's usually full of BFC exiles like me and gets busy on Sat nights, good price and good staffTheOriginalLongsider wrote:Holiday inn express is pretty good. And you can walk to turf Moor from there. Rosehill house is supposed to be good.

Re: Best Hotel Guest House in the Burnley area
I just used travelodge for 40 quid a night. Comfy bed. That's all that mattered and easy downhill walk to town/ turf.
Coming back get a cab and be lazy

Hurstwood Hall is full of history, and close to Worsthorne.

A friend of ours used The Forest Fence recently and said it was excellent. The Lawrence in Padiham also has a really good reputation as mentioned above.

It's a boutique hotel don't you know, in Padiham. Yes, even the Starkies has had a major refurbishment and sells Pimms. Give it a try, owner put a lot of work in.Quickenthetempo wrote:It's opened up again as The Lawrence.
