What is that chant I keep hearing?
Heard it a few times but can't make out a word. Was being sung back of Cricketfield, 2nd half Thursday. Song is Tom Hark.

I preferred the original version ofLongsider wrote:Heard this in Athens. Absolutely hilarious. Was slightly distressed at some old bloke getting really into the bum him body moves though.
“And all I did was kick his fu(king head in
Kick his head in - kick his head in
All I did was kick his fu(king head in”
But this version seems to have taken off more haha

Re: What is that chant I keep hearing?
I love how people complain about fans not joining in with chants. Then every new chant includes several swear words that a lot of people, especially those with family at the ground are uncomfortable with. If we had a song like Stokes Delila, we'd change it to shagging her or something. I’m sure these people think it makes them sound hard. Can someone not come up with something in celebration/support of Burnley, rather than concentrating on those down the road?
Re: What is that chant I keep hearing?
Bizarre song. They can all laugh about it drinking their coffee in the factory floor canteen every brew time, whilst sharing violent porn videos with each other grunting their very prominent brows off and pretending to read the daily sport to seem intellectual to their peers.
You know the types. The braindead dregs, every town has them in abundance ours sadly is up there.

Understand your point but think Stoke have done that pretty well already. Never heard Tom Jones sing ‘I put my d**k in her hand and she laughed no more’...!

Re: What is that chant I keep hearing?
The speed singers hit new heights on Thursday. Not content with 'we are the Longside Burnley' at warp factor 9 they were actually singing the line before the previous one had finished. Most songs with the exception of NNN are almost indecipherable and accompanied with manic speed clapping.Burnleyareback2 wrote:Could of been anything once the speed singers have hold of it
Compare the JM C&B army epic from Derby those years ago with the current SD version.

I’ve never heard the chant, and don’t sit in the Bob Lord Stand, but I doubt very much I’d like a chant about bumming Blackburn fans. Very odd. Perhaps people who sit in the Bob Lord Stand just have better taste.theroyaldyche wrote:Brilliant chant

No issue with the swearing. Thats part and parcel. and always explain to the lads while its not necessarily acceptable to swear in normal scenarios footballs the exception. And they wont be punished for repeating (at the match).mickleoverclaret wrote:Imagine swearing at a football game. There'll be people drinking alcohol before you know it.

Is this a genuine chant we've made up?
Re: What is that chant I keep hearing?
If the CFS purport to be the voice from the stands, they should consider the speed of delivery, so other stands can pick up and join in.
They should also consider the quality of their offering.
Finally, the songs should primarily concentrate of the positive aspects of Burnley.

What I don't understand is that you hear some away fans come to the Turf and sing long, complicated songs all as one voice, but our lot speed everything up so much that the chants barely last 30 seconds before they're too fast to be decipherable and just die out.

Re: What is that chant I keep hearing?
Not sure what people bang on in the Cricketfield but it was similar in the JHU before the singers moved, they banged on the boards at the back of stand way too fast killing the rhythm.
With the exception of the ‘Lancashire Home’ song, every song with a clap rarely lasts long enough to reach the other stands.
Coupled with the sound from the Burnley part of the Cricketfield not travelling to the JHU/JHL well, getting something going is difficult.

Re: What is that chant I keep hearing?
I remember last year when we played Spurs at home they started their "We've got Alli, Dele Alli" chant. Not to be outdone, the Burnley fans in the Cricketfield stand launched into our Steven Defour equivalent, and managed to complete the whole song before the Spurs fans had got to the end of the first verse. Why our fans have to do everything with a drum and bass tempo I've no idea but I just find it funny now.
