The Best Christmas Movie Ever
Without a doubt. It's not even close. It's got to be the original "Die Hard".

Re: The Best Christmas Movie Ever
Went to the shops last night and one aisle was stocked with Christmas stuff. Got me thinking, won't be long till we watch The Muppets Christmas Carol again. That's the best Christmas film.

Oliver, by a country mile.
My kids loved it and my grand kids love it.
Those mentioned above are very good too, but come second in my opinion.
It will soon be Easter boys and girls.

Hard to see past Home Alone - but as a kid I used to love Santa Claus: The Movie, with Dudley Moore.

Apparently so. I just sent a message to the real Dermot and received the following back:ontario claret wrote:By the way, are you the Dermott who drove me around Burnley in 1978?
‘Wow, that’s incredible. Yes I remember Ontario Claret in 1978. I was a cub reporter. I’ve forgotten his name. Ask him if he remembers Gary Brannigan/Peter Higgs/Paddy Mulchrone????
I can’t log on as Kindonesque as I’ve forgotten my password’.

Yes I'm serious. Why not? It's a great Christmas film, meaning, it's entertainment for the whole family, a classic, and yes it's not "about" Christmas but it's set in winter. I don't think a great Christmas film has to have Christmas in it necessarily.Tall Paul wrote:Not sure if serious.

Re: The Best Christmas Movie Ever
Well it just depends on your definition. I was thinking of the best films to watch AT Christmas, that's all.Rileybobs wrote:I think it kind of does. Surely?
Re: The Best Christmas Movie Ever
By that definition any film can be called a Christmas film.chekhov wrote:Yes I'm serious. Why not? I would have said the same until I watched it again last year and noticed for the first time that Bruce Willis' vest changes colour for no reason at all through the film from white to almost black and then back to dirty white again.ontario claret wrote:Without a doubt. Look...
"John's vest is white when he enters the vent system and dark green when he exits. This is not, as some think, a result of accumulated dirt."
This really bugged me the last time I saw it.

A Christmas Carol (1951) Alastair Sim as Scrooge. Best in black and white, watched late at night after and during a few drinks - makes you want to be a better person ( if only for a while!)
