Christmas signings?
Which players should Sean and his recruitment team be watching as potential winter signings? Hopefully we are doing the leg work now and will be ready as soon as the transfer window opens.

I'd like to think we've already made tentative enquiries for Dawson and Rodriguez at West Brom

We don't need another centre back unless one leaves.

Not sure why we would look at Dawson now. We signed Gibson.randomclaret2 wrote:I'd like to think we've already made tentative enquiries for Dawson and Rodriguez at West Brom
Re: Christmas signings?
Seeing as our worldwide scouting database only has about 6 players in it, I expect we'll be back in for Henri Lansbury.

Amazing then the number of players we’ve signed since we last tried to sign Lansbury over three years ago.jrgbfc wrote:Seeing as our worldwide scouting database only has about 6 players in it, I expect we'll be back in for Henri Lansbury.

There is always the fact that it is impossible to sign players at Christmas - we have to wait for the window to open in the New Year

The club will announce Brady, JBG and Defour will be close to being fit so there shouldnt be any need to sign anyone

It'll be like 3 new signings and isn't Walters due back in Jan. Sounds like an excellent transfer window to me already (clap, clap, clap)Cleveleys_claret wrote:The club will announce Brady, JBG and Defour will be close to being fit so there shouldnt be any need to sign anyone

Most people accepted I was just talking about the winter period not specific dates.cricketfieldclarets wrote:We wont sign anyone before 25th january never mind december.
A top striker would be my choice. Someone who can score20+ goals....slightly more than Wood (injury free season).
Re: Christmas signings?
As Leicester proved last season, you can sign anyone any time - even as soon as 14 seconds after the window closes!Chester Perry wrote:There is always the fact that it is impossible to sign players at Christmas - we have to wait for the window to open in the New Year
What you can't do, is register them.
Re: Christmas signings?
Based on last year, that would be Salah, Kane, Aguero, or Vardy. I'd say Vardy would be the most likely except that he's just signed a new contract.LoveCurryPies wrote:A top striker would be my choice. Someone who can score20+ goals....slightly more than Wood (injury free season).
Re: Christmas signings?
Someone in the mould of Defour/Barton, a tough playmaking midfielder, someone with that bit of magic to open our forward play, providing that Defour himself doesn't recapture that magic for whatever reason. Christmas might be a world away in football terms regarding our current narrative on things, it all can change in a game or two.

Re: Christmas signings?
I suppose it all depends on the recoveries of Defour and Brady. If they are fit, and Vydra works out OK, I wouldn't expect any signings.

Re: Christmas signings?
If we are still in the bottom 3, I don't think we will sign anyone. We will be keeping our house in order for a drop to the championship and a promotion push next season

Re: Christmas signings?
Brady, Defour and Gudmundsson will be like three new signings so no need to sign anyone else.

It could be a defining window for the Dyche-Garlick partnership.
