Joe Rogan & Elon Musk podcast
Anyone listened to this latest one released this week?
When Musk says in jest that he is an alien - I actually believe him!
Got into the Rogan podcasts through this site. Some of them are unbelievably good. Definitely recommend this one and the equally brilliant Jordan Peterson episode.

Re: Joe Rogan & Elon Musk podcast
I found the comedian Joey Diaz through Rogan's podcasts. He won't be everyone's cup of tea but I could listen to his stories all day

Re: Joe Rogan & Elon Musk podcast
I hadnt realised that Rogan had interviewed Peterson. But the interview was fantastic. I have seen plenty of Peterson before on youtube and have one of his books. But the interview was still fascinating.
I love the fact that most are 3 or so hours long. Joey Bartons were good but way too short. Some of them go really in depth. Even those I was a bit sceptical of before listening I have enjoyed (so far).
Musks is definitely recommended. He is a lot odder than I had realised before though.

I'm about an hour in to the Musk podcast. I've been watching on YouTube rather than just listening and Musk definitely seems very socially awkward. Definitely an odd one

Not as yet although I'm aiming to at some point this week. The best thing about Rogan's podcasts are the vast array of guests who I've never heard of who end up being really interesting. Sure you get the odd weirdo but on the whole they are great. If you're into MMA then the MMA show podcasts are great too

Absolutely. Listened to some proper weird and wonderful interviewees. TBH Didnt think Rogan would be up my street but he is. Dont like or follow MMA. But may still listen to some - Joey Barton had Cipriani on. Didnt think I would be into it but was one of best ones.
Going to go finish this Musk one off now.
over and out!

Re: Joe Rogan & Elon Musk podcast
I absolutely love listening to these podcasts. I spend all day at home alone in the weekdays, working in the field and these longform podcasts are just what I'm into to pass the day by whenever I'm inclined to do so. His Peterson ones have been fantastic, watching him come to terms with his own popularity whilst maintaining a firm footing in his own humility is quite the journey to witness, he and Joe have a great respect for one another and it shows. Joe's show with Bret Weinstein and Heather Weinstein a great listen too, Kevin Smith and his heart attack and recovery was inspiring, the one with Theo Von and his story about doing the Colombian marching powder on his own in his flat and then he locks himself out had me crying with laughter. That guy the other week, forget his name, his story about being a captive in Somalia, incredible...the one a while back with David Goggins, wow. So many great talks, a brilliant new(ish) form of media, podcasts are really the only things I listen to presentlycricketfieldclarets wrote:Anyone listened to this latest one released this week?

I got into a few audio books via Peterson that have whittled the hours weeding away, alexander solzhenitsyns Gulag Archipelago and George Orwell's Road to Wigan Pier...great listens.
Being a pro wrestling fan as well there's no shortage of podcasts covering this weird, naff but brilliant form of entertainment..I'm mainly into 80s and 90s American ECW,WCW and WWF nostalgia.. Something to Wrestle With Bruce Prichard has about 300 hours of content that has kept me going recently.
Any recommendations? I'll give anything a listen too at least once.
I raise a glass to podcasts, never thought I'd be able listening to folk babble on for three hours + at a time but I love them.

Re: Joe Rogan & Elon Musk podcast
Listen to The Joe Rogan Experience relatively frequently, and agree that the extended length means that there is often more depth to the ‘interviews’ and he seems to be able to connect on a level to most of his guests. I haven’t listened to the Elon Musk one yet, but it’s kicked up a fair bit of a storm.... I really enjoyed the Peterson and for some reason really rated the Dan Bilzerian one too!
Love podcasts and find audio and podcasts so relaxing.
Aside from the football ones that I listen to religiously, I love desert island discs and working through the back catalogue is great and varied.
My current favourite however, is ‘Unfiltered’ with James O’Brien, I understand that people might see him as a champagne socialist of sorts, and possibly too left wing, but his interviews are brilliant and guests varied....
...I genuinely think the Bill Browder one relating to his investments and subsequent treatment by the Russian state is one of the best podcasts I’ve ever listened to- bought his book after and enjoyed that too!

I listen to ‘distraction pieces’ with Scroobius Pip too 4.20 and pretty sure he does a few podcasts on the old wresting too as he is a fan! Great podcast and excellent guests!4:20 wrote:I absolutely love listening to these podcasts. Mate, whenever I put on a podcast and hear an American accent I pull the plug. All my favourite podcasts are best of British. Actually thinking of doing my own one if I can get a decent USB mic..."On The Hour with Millertime v3.5"
That's right fellas... I've had an upgrade

Thanks Aotearoa, will have a listen. Scroobius Pip, that's a name I haven't heard of for a few years, remember Thou Shalt Always Kill with Dan La Sac, glad to hear he's still active in some form.AotearoaClaret wrote:I listen to ‘distraction pieces’ with Scroobius Pip too 4.20 and pretty sure he does a few podcasts on the old wresting too as he is a fan! Absolutely agree. Theyre fantastic. Usually spend 20 to 30 hours in the car a week. Gives me something worth listening to rather than get irritated by adrian durham and wix adverts!
Petersons story is incredible.

Re: Joe Rogan & Elon Musk podcast
The only Rogan podcast ive listened to was the one with Sam Harris which I thought was excellent. Harris is probably my favourite of the intellectual public speakers but I love listening to Peterson.
Peterson's political stuff is very good but I'm preferring just watching on you tube his recorded class lectures which are absolutely fascinating. Found a YouTube channel I think its Archangel 911 who has edited lots of his lectures down into really interesting 10-15 min segments which id recommend any Peterson fan taking a look at

Podcasts is one bit of tech ive not really got my head round (admittedly ive not tried hard) so what site / app do you use to search for and download podcasts and do they tend to be paid for of free?cricketfieldclarets wrote:Listened to Sam Harris and Majiid Nawaaz one on the drive this morning. I tend to rip the audios from stuff I find on You Tube and stick on my phone that way so I can listen in the car and walking around but would be easier if I knew how find and download podcasts properly?

I use the Podcast Republic app. Just search for Joe Rogan, find the episode you're after and download it so you can listen to it offline. Great app!

It's free by the way. All the money is made through the adverts at the beginning of the podcasts (I usually skip the first 5 minutes)

If you feel so inclined you can financially support podcasts that you enjoy by making small regular contributions.
One of my favourite podcasters is Sam Harris and I give about £2/month through the Patreon website. Well worth it.

at about 1:19:00 in Elon is visibly choked about burning fossil fuels and you can see why he wants Telsa and solar to succeed, for him I doubt its a financial reward it feels personal
