Hardly worth a mention these days, such a run-of-the-mill occurrence.

In the middle of the three. Should be able to show off his strengths. Have a good one, Tarks.
Kevin Long and Jeff Hendrick start for Ireland.

He did indeed - thought initially it was keepers fault but Tarks certainly gestured to get the ball from him. Looked very nervous....just needs to settle down.

Tarks had a poor game so far. Not sure playing players from out of form club teams sees them in their best light.

No, i also think it sounds shite.
People talk about our songs/atmosphere.

Imagine having only 3 songs, all shite and with some silly chaps playing them on trumpets.

Atomic kitten.... really?

Shame Naked Attraction, or can't pay we'll take it away isn't on.
I'm stuck with first dates now, as I'm not watching or listening to that crap for another 45 minutes

I don't think Jamie Redknapp rates Loftus-Cheek that highly. The young woman pundit on the panel is talking a lot of sense, whilst I have a great deal of difficulty in even understanding Carragher. England have been crap and the band is worse. Not certain I can stand another 45 minutes of this.

How do you work that out. HIs only error was diving in and getting skinned by a guy who should have been pulled up for handball. His passing has been safe but always accurate.

Did you miss him giving the ball away on the edge of his own box, leading to the Shakiri effort?

Hilarious watching two teams trying to play football in their own penalty areas and repeatedly play themselves into trouble. If you’re not good enough - we’re not - don’t do it.

Correct, against a better side he would have cost us 2 goals, that pass to walker 2nd half would have been punished too, right pull back, sadly Sui are Burnley esc with only ever 1 bloke in the box

It's funny how critical we are of him on tonight's performance, yet Jordan Henderson never gets a mention

Henderson's not playing! :)

Dier is dire...again. How's that?
Stones nearly caused a goal and Butland is totally inadequate.

I thought he did ok Butland was all over the place which didn’t help and he kept one of their defenders occupied for the goal, good tackle just before he was subbed

Looked what he is. A decent defender with some timely blocks and tackles, ok in possession but makes the odd poor decision and a little slow when on the ball. However he looked ill at ease playing in an unfamiliar position (central of a 3) both in his body shape for runners and his decision making in when to press and when to drop. I’d also add the pace of the game and the Swiss press in the position he was in. Improvement in those things come with practice of the position within games, he shouldn’t be dismissed off one game at it.

Worked out kind of perfectly. He knows he can get to the England team playing with us. He knows as well that he has to improve. Could spur him on to some great performances for us.

Non of the current England centre halves are that good at defending anyway and that includes Stones and Maguire - both better going forward.

There have only been two English world class players in these positions in recent years - Rio Ferdinand and John Terry.

Dave Kidd of the Sun wasn't keen:

‘There were only five regular Premier League starters in his line-up and one of those, James Tarkowski, was embarrassingly poor in the centre of the back three.

‘The Burnley man, sadly, is destined to be recalled in years to come in pub discussions about England’s poorest players — along with Michael Ricketts, Ryan Shawcross, Jay Bothroyd and Joey Barton.’

Bit harsh from Dave Kidd there, but have to agree he's not showing England form at the moment, far from it.

Was also poor at the back end of last season, too.

There's a longer list than than that available for anyone who could be bothered to research it.

Just seen this on Read Sport:

James Tarkowski - 8
Another strong showing from Burnley man, giving Southgate plenty to think about moving forward.

I confess I only watched "highlights" so I'm assuming that the editing was a poor reflection on his performance

.... or written and scored by Ben Mee ;)
