Wolves Portuguese Imports v MIGHTY CLARETS
Re: Wolves Portuguese Imports v MIGHTY CLARETS
Another promoted teams showing us how football should be played . We have stagnated . Not good enough by the board Dyche or the players. Pathetic.

We can afford more we made a hefty profit... we just aren’t willing to spend more.FactualFrank wrote:Like I've said before - that will be down to money. We can't cherry pick who we like, as other clubs offer higher wages due to having more money. We get the TV money and that's pretty much it. Other Prem clubs have TV money on top of an already wealthy board to back them.
Of course, overseas scouting could help, but in this country, we are left with what other clubs don't want - because if they did want them, they would simply double our wage offering. Wolves have players on 90-100k. What do we have - 40-50k?
Overseas scouting is an absolute must but Dyche isn’t interested what so ever. Transfer market is a huge limitation for Dyche and our board.
It’s looking very likely we will be playing in the championship next year anyway.

The plan B was Vydra, but when every player bar Hart and to an extent Hendrick has been solidly 3/10, it’s a total irrelevance what change you try to do.NickBFC wrote:Has Dyche got a plan b? Certainly needs one.
The players look like a totally different set of players to the ones we watched last season. Taylor and Bardsley being your full backs is a large part of that as they are a million miles away from good enough.

If I were Dyche I’d be bringing on Adama Traore at this point. Sadly, it’s Wolves doing it instead.

Possibly agree with A, but leaving Lowton out for Bardsley, and playing with two cart horses up front isn't down to the board.Vegas Claret wrote:Dyche had a plan A - sign some players, the board screwed his plan A

What has happened, specifically to:
Tarkowski
Mee
Ward
Lowton
Cork
Barnes
Wood
Lennon
Gudmundsson
To make them all so much worse than last season - it’s chalk and cheese?

Summer should’ve been used to prepare for Europe AND the Prem. As it turns out, we didn’t even prepare for the Prem.

the board couldn't care less as long as they have a healthy profit in the bank
they prevented Dyche from buying and building on last season team were it was obvious by our end of season run investment was needed and Dyche got nowt

The problem is, the parachute payments will only last us so long. Maybe they're happy for us to bounce up and down, but that is a big risk to play, texasbrit wrote:the board couldn't care less as long as they have a healthy profit in the bank

Wood on for Vokes
Re: Wolves Portuguese Imports v MIGHTY CLARETS
Exactly our problem. If the extent of our ability to make a change is Westwood for Hendrick, it’s simply not good enough at this level.colne-claret wrote:Time for Westwood instead of Hendrick for me.
Both have done OK this season but if we are being completely honest, their good enough isn’t good enough for this level.
A midfielder and a winger were an absolute must in the summer, despite plenty of claims that the squad was fine and “look what we achieved last season”.
Last season is gone, this league doesn’t stand still, but we have!

Be that as it may - this is Sean Dyche’s team, Sean Dyche’s tactics and we have not sold one player from the team he took to 7th (and added a little depth).texasbrit wrote:the board couldn't care less as long as they have a healthy profit in the bank

There is no excuse for how poor we are playing game after game that can be levelled at Mike Garlick.

Enough wasn't done. Points needed to be picked up early this season. I don't care if people think I'm over reacting but are there three worse teams in the league than us? At the moment I don't think so.DCWat wrote:Exactly our problem. If the extent of our ability to make a change is Westwood for Hendrick, it’s simply not good enough at this level.

False argument, Jedi. Last year’s team know they’ve reached their pinnacle. The only differentiation between our players is that some aren't good enough and some are seriously out of their depth. I exclude Hart.
Re: Wolves Portuguese Imports v MIGHTY CLARETS
Wolves have very much eased off. And they’re still creating more.
Re: Wolves Portuguese Imports v MIGHTY CLARETS
Jedi your right it is Dyches team however whilst the rest of the PL have advance we haven't you cant expect Dyche to keep asking the same team to out perform without being developed with better playersjedi_master wrote:Be that as it may - this is Sean Dyche’s team, Sean Dyche’s tactics and we have not sold one player from the team he took to 7th (and added a little depth).

He didn't press the reset button, he pressed the retreat button and he did it on July 1st not Sept 16th.
In other words he bottled it due to Europe and went into his default defensive shell. From no fear to total panic. We have since struggled to create.
It could yet cost us everything.

I get that, I am not absolving our board of a shocking transfer window mate, at all.NRC wrote:False argument, Jedi. Last year’s team know they’ve reached their pinnacle. That psychology is huge in terms of performance at this level
I am simply saying that the team we are seeing is turning in a performance barely half as good on a man to man basis. The players I listed on a post further up have gone from some I would put in a 20 million valuation to looking Top 6 Championship (at best), the likes of Gudmundsson etc.
If that is due to complacency, I put that down to the management team to sort out psychologically.
