Fair play, love the honesty, not sure Dyche will like how outspoken he is

Kind of refreshing to hear (read) that. We know why Wolves were so much better, but even so, we could have made more of an effort. Lennon: Either take on your man or don't play.

He was top class again today. and when the goal went in the only who looked up for it. went right up to half way and tried to gee them all up.

If it wasn't for Hart today it would have been very Embarrassing. A 5-0 thumping or worse.
Re: Joe Hart
Not sure if what he said was particularly outspoken. He simply said what we all saw - it was an honest assessment and nothing controversial. Good on him and especially after he was one of only a few who came out of that game with any credit.Burnley1989 wrote:Fair play, love the honesty, not sure Dyche will like how outspoken he is

He’s absolutely correct, and he came out of today with credit unlike one other player.

Re: Joe Hart
Joe Hart must be wondering what he's done signing for Burnley. What's going on? We had a defence to be proud of last season. We were all over the show today.
Re: Joe Hart
On the contrary, this team is making him look like a star playerHealeywoodclaret wrote:Joe Hart must be wondering what he's done signing for Burnley. What's going on? We had a defence to be proud of last season. We were all over the show today.
Re: Joe Hart
The reason the defence looks so bad is because we can’t keep possession in midfield and carry no attacking threat up front, so we just invite constant pressure.

I genuinely don’t have that impression of Dyche. I think he wants strong characters such as Hart, who aren’t afraid to speak their mind. Providing it’s done in the right way of course.Burnley1989 wrote:Yeah, I’m fine with it but I get the impression from Dyche that he would prefer players not to comment

Will be interesting what Dyche has to say about today. Can no longer blame it on having to play Thursday night.

Incredible performance today and showed what a class keeper he still is.

Re: Joe Hart
Agree with JH . However, it is difficult to see what a “good long look at ourselves”will achieve if the players , especially in midfield ( but not exclusively)are playing up to their ability level. For example , our accuracy of passing and pace on and off the ball, looked to be in a different league from that of Wolves. Does this mean that our players are unable to think and act any faster ?
SD has always demanded that players give their all. If they are doing , no amount of looking will make individuals any better.
If this is the case, then it’s down to tactics, system , team selection and perhaps above all recruitment and those factors lie principally with the coaching team and the board.

Re: Joe Hart
following question asked him about the formation, and he straight-batted that saying not his position to comment, then gave Dyche, fellow players and management a vote of confidenceVegas Claret wrote:just said on the telebox

They arnt giving their all. The closing down was nonexistent. That's not a management choice, although Dyche needs to be questioned.Burtonwoodclaret wrote:Agree with JH . Re: Joe Hart
The clue as to how much better Hart is than the rest of them is his high standards. Extremely impressive. I am sure he would call himself out just as much as the team in general.
In short, form aside, he is a winner.

Re: Joe Hart
How has Hart suddenly become a spokesman for the club after a handful of games, worrying for me and perhaps a sign the culture of the club is shifting.

Re: Joe Hart
Hart has always given interviews after games at every club he has played for. This was an interview being broadcast all around the World so I would expect the majority of arm chair footy fans would rather hear from Hart than BardsleyPapabendi wrote:How has Hart suddenly become a spokesman for the club after a handful of games, worrying for me and perhaps a sign the culture of the club is shifting.

Re: Joe Hart
Hart is one of the world’s top goalkeepers. He rightly is given that prominent status. No detriment to the rest of our lads. They need the cojones to recognise class and emulate the things Hart does.Papabendi wrote:How has Hart suddenly become a spokesman for the club after a handful of games, worrying for me and perhaps a sign the culture of the club is shifting.
(Yes, I know he has had a rocky spell, but was Golden Gloves 4 times in the hardest league in the world)

Re: Joe Hart
He isn't wrong.
We could have played until next Saturday and not scored.
We looked slow and ponderous, with no real idea or game plan on how to cause Wolves any problems.
I'm greatful it was only 1, as if it was 4 or 5, we couldn't have complained.
Wolves created more in 90 minutes, than we have all season in the league.

Re: Joe Hart
This said it all to me. When they scored all 10 players body language was dreadful. Heads down. Shoulders slumped. He went out all the way to half way and acted like a leader. And told them all to get it together.
As per every thread after every game this season. Hart is the very least of our problems.

Re: Joe Hart
How pathetic do we look on that photo? All stood lined up ready to kick off whilst Wolves celebrate in the background.
We were awful yesterday. As David Moyes said, what made us successful just isn’t there at the moment. We aren’t playing in the manner we have done for 4-5 years.
Very worrying.

Re: Joe Hart
Joe hit the nail on the head.
Once again we were poor with a flattering score line. Wolves should have had 6. Most other Premier league sides would have exploited Wolves poor finishing and come away with at least a point, we created nothing.
Looks grim at the moment and the lack of investment in the squad is now coming home to roost

Did anybody spot him giving his shorts away to a young Wolves fan. Thought it was a bit odd........ Surely the kid would have preferred his gloves or shinpads / water bottle or even his towel

Re: Joe Hart
His ability was never in doubt at all. Not sure anybody (who knows much about football) ever doubted him. A top keeper. He always was, he just wasn't always given the confidence from his manager. That was basically what was missing.

Outstanding today.
Re: Joe Hart
His performances have been of a really great standard so far, single-handedly keeping us in games and ensuring a few scorelines have flattered us.
Re: Joe Hart
The worry with Hart in current form is keeping hold of him in the January transfer window. Let's not forget this lad was an England regular not long back and a PL title winner. Held in very high regard at City apart from Pep, they are naming a training pitch after him.
He's taken a pay cut to come to Burnley albeit from a massive golden handshake from City. I still give my head a wobble when I see Hart playing for the Clarets.

Re: Joe Hart
Playing very well in a fairly poor team. He's got serous competition but feels wanted and is showing his quality. Despite the daft wages nowadays that can make you question some players this is one player who you can tell it hurts when we lose.

I used to think he was an arse (probably due to bias fie Heaton etc) but decided to get behind him once he signed...
Can easily say my opinion has completely reversed. He is as passionate as they come and has easily been our best player so far this season.

There were quite a number of people on here who thought he would be a good signing! He has in-fact turned out to be an excellent signing so far. Highly impressed.
