Are you referring to the **** on the pitch
Re: Are we down?
Judging by the last 3 performances almost definitely.
Value to be had with SkyBet at 15/8 to be relegated

I think we will stay up (only just) but, personally, I prefer watching Championship football these days.

No one gets relegated in early November, especially if you're not even in the relegation zone. Could we archive this till march then it might be worth discussing.

If this carries on yes. We're conceding way to many and that usually ends up with one result

I'm certainly feeling a bit low at present. I take weeks to adjust to the clocks going back.

Re: Are we down?
We are in the mix with 3 or 4 others, possibly no more.
It will need a massive turnaround soon because the goals conceded are going to become a problem longer term.

Other teams aren’t conceding 4 though that 3 times this season , twice against average/poor teamsTall Paul wrote:We are scoring goals though, unlike most of the other teams in the mix.

They might as well be though, because if they're not scoring it doesn't matter whether they conceded one or four.joey13 wrote:Other teams aren’t conceding 4 though that 3 times this season , twice against average/poor teams

Re: Are we down?
I don't think we can make excuses. Newcastle were always bound to improve eventually, so I don't see 3 teams worse than us. I actually think we are worse than Cardiff and Huddersfield - both of which outplayed us.

It does look like SD no longer knows his best team, which is a worry.

Did Hannibal give up when he lost a third of his elephants crossing the Alps?!
Wait...That's not it.
I've been planning to come to Burnley from Buffalo, NY, USA next October for two years...I'd really like to see them in the Premiership. Think the board will be moved by my story?
I'd still bet I'd have a great time watching us thrash Leeds, though. I'll let fate take me on this ride, I guess.

Re: Are we down?
These elephants, can they play in a back three or are they better suited to 4-4-2?
Re: Are we down?
This isn't a little old Burnley post before I start.
Yes we'd all like to play like City and Liverpool but it simply isn't going to happen, really don't get what folk are expecting.
Our football under Dyche has always been as grinders it's called finding what works within your budget. Yes there's been a few stamd out performances when we have played some lovely stuff but we've had success doing it ugly.
I get it's easy to feel disenchanted when ugly football doesn't provide wins. I'm by no means a happy clapper and in my opinion we've let ourselves down transfer wise especially this summer, no idea why we've failed bringing targets in but we have. Certainly need to start looking at the starting line up in Jan and not bulking the squad.
Some of the opinions on here are embarrassing to me. We need to realise, 7th, as amazing as it was last season it simply isn't going to be a regular thing.
I truly don't understand the views that 17th isn't success at the minute. Yeah a relegation scrap is stressful and involves many more loses than wins but it's the reality fpr us.
I ain't board bashing they've done great but the money around is mental and it's incredibly difficult to compete at this level with their wealth. Do I advocate a takeover, I'm split. To move to the next level it's most likely required but could quite easily turn bad given the chancers who have been involved at many other clubs.
I feel too many are just far too negative in the moment and not seeing the bigger picture of the work going on trying to improve recruitment, youth and the training facility speaks for itself.

No, not at all. We do however need to see an immediate progression to halt our slide in form

At the moment we are showing all the signs that are common in relegated teams.

Re: Are we down?
Are we heck down, still a long way to go and plenty of points to play for.
This is probably the most difficult period of SD's tenure but he's turned things around before and hopefully he can do it again, that's why he's paid the big bucks.
Keep the faith..

Re: Are we down?
We are 100% not going to get relegated. There are at least three teams worse than us. Cardiff, Newcastle and Huddersfield definitely. Fulham are on a totally wretched run as well They will the four teams fighting to avoid the drop. We have enough quality to stave off dropping into the bottom three. You just have hold your nerve as at some point we will put a run together.
Re: Are we down?
I was referring more to the fact that we are shipping goals for fun and look completely rudderless.dsr wrote:Except perhaps for the sign of "being in the bottom three".
Re: Are we down?
We’re nailed on for relegation. We don’t look like we have any idea how to address this slump.

You mean we're not massively odds on? How can that be when we're apparently down already?taio wrote:If you're that certain worth lumping on at 11/8
Next you'll be telling us that there are three teams with shorter odds to be relegated.

Re: Are we down?
If we continue as we are right now, I would say there is a good chance of relegation, but there is still plenty of time to turn things round. I don't think we are as bad as our recent performances and results suggest.
Re: Are we down?
Even if we were evens or odds on somebody with such confidence we are 'nailed on' to be relegated should take advantage of the apparent free moneyTall Paul wrote:You mean we're not massively odds on? How can that be when we're apparently down already?

Re: Are we down?
For what it's worth, I think we are in our own mini league for battling against relegation with Newcastle, Fulham, Cardiff, Huddersfield and Southampton. I cannot see any other team being dragged into a relegation battle. My opinion is that the bottom 6 at the moment will be the bottom 6 at the end of the season. I think the Newcastle home game is the proverbial six pointer for us. If we win that we will stay up in my opinion. We need to get as close as possible to 20 points by the end of this year.

What about now?
Re: Are we down?
I have thought for sometime that we will be in a relegation scrap and after tonight I fear the worse with us bottom at Xmas and little prospect of getting the players to get us out of the mess we are in. We have needed speed for a couple of seasons now and still have zilch. Speed (and skill) is the key in this league

Re: Are we down?
I wouldn’t be too bothered with being in the championship except from that we’ll have to play them lot down the road again next season, and Leeds **** may well be a league above us.
Re: Are we down?
Yes. We're going down. Dyche stays no matter what - He's the right man to try and get us back up. The board have a lot to answer for, penny pinching again and not spending the money to get signings over the line. They’ve wasted the opportunity to capitalise on our best league finish in 50+ years. Not spending that £30m in the summer will have cost us the £120m per season we make from being in this league.

Re: Are we down?
In our 5 games against probable relegation rivals,Cardiff,Fulham,Huddersfield,Newcastle and Southampton,we have amassed 5 points that's not good enough, nobody is relegated in November but the same old story is repeating, sloppy goals conceded and chances missed at the other end,not a good combination.
