Re: Are we down?
No, of course we're not down yet but.....
as each week passes we're getting closer and optimism/belief is
beginning to fade.
We need to get at least 5 points from our next three games
to be still in with a shout.
One win and two draws or 2 wins (against Huddersfield and Fulham)
might be best.
Can we do it?
God I hope so but must admit to feeling
increasingly pessimistic about achieving 5 or more ponits.

On the optimisticometer I'm running at 2 out of 10. We're like a mini Manure before Jose got the push.

Re: Are we down?
I said at the beginning of September that relegation is nailed on and I still believe that.
I had gained a bit of belief when Dyche changed the system but since the results have not turned I stand by what I said.
Dyche is a busted flush, he has run his course, its time for a change of manager with fresh ideas. I honestly don't think the players listen to Sean anymore, when that happens it's time for a change.

Re: Are we down?
Need 7 points from the next three games to have any chance of staying up. Huddersfield are already down in my view, its between us, Fulham, Cardiff & Southampton for the final two places.
Re: Are we down?
Today is a free hit. Huddersfield and Fulham are must wins. If we take 6 points from those two our season changes in an instant. The only issue is I don't see us getting a point, nevermind 6!

Free hit? Three are no free hits in our position.

Re: Are we down?
Need to beat Cardiff and get a point at B'mouth to breath easy, but this was a good weekend for us.

Re: Are we down?
Even Cardiff have a chance of getting points away to Brighton and Fulham, whilst their home game v Palace should return 3 points for Colin.
The fat lady isn't even gargling yet.
A long way to go and if we don't beat Cardiff then it will be squeaky bum time!

I think if we get two points from our next two games that Cardiff will get relegated.

Not safe yet, but in a better position than Newcastle, whose maximum total is 50.

I think 45 points will be enough this season so another 2 wins ought to do it.

We may very well have achieved our points total this season; although I fancy we'll draw with MancityRileybobs wrote:I think 45 points will be enough this season so another 2 wins ought to do it.

Re: Are we down?
We might as well go for it. And I'm being honest - I hope SD makes the players feel relaxed and just go into the game knowing we're staying up. The pressure will be on Man City as they're competing with Liverpool.boatshed bill wrote:We may very well have achieved our points total this season; although I fancy we'll draw with Mancity

Cardiff aside, there is absolutely no chance Brighton will finish above us. The Cardiff game is their only hope of getting points this season.Dark Cloud wrote:If Cardiff catch us from this position I'll personally perform oral sex on Colin. (I'm THAT confident!!!)

I fancy our chances against Everton as well. Now the pressure is dropping on us, I think we can do Ok on the run-in.

Re: Are we down?
I fancy us better when the pressure is on. Everton away is going to be a dreary affair with both sides nothing to play for. I can see us getting hammered at Chelsea. City we will give it our best shot. Arsenal home we owe them one and can see us putting in a good performance.
Fortunately we are playing two top sides at home, if not the lads would be heading off to the beaches.
The only other plus side is the financial gain for a higher finish, that could weigh on their minds and keep them focused

I'm absolutely crapping it all of a sudden. The euphoria of Saturday has worn off and the reality is that not only will the mighty Clarets be going down, I'll personally be going down too (On bloody Colin!!!!)

Absolutely right Joey, but I'd had more than a few pints in town on Saturday and was very giddy. The reality now is I really, really don't fancy Colin, so I'm going find it very tough!!!joey13 wrote:Should have kept your mouth shut

Re: Are we down?
He certainly looked that way from August to the new year. I personally gave him 2 games after the 5-1 Everton defeat.Spijed wrote:
Dyche was far to negative in his approach to games in the 1st half of the season. Performances at home to Huddersfield, Newcastle and away to Wolves and Fulham to name a few, were just not good enough at this level, especially for a side who in the previous season finished 7th.
Fortunately Sean turned things around just in time. The Europa league didn't help matters, all being well we can hit the ground running next season and get off to a good start, now we don't have the nuisance of the Europa league to contend with.

Re: Are we down?
I'll change the OP slightly...
1 (one) word: Yes or No. This is taking into account the hopeful return of Taylor, Barnes and Westwood before January. Plus any signings.
