The Airfix Bradford Model

Post by Pstotto » Wed Sep 19, 2018 10:57 am

... A shanty town on whizzwheels with a lime green Subaru sticker and Monster Drink 'Go faster to hell' stripes.

A complicated build, especially with Tamiya instructions.

The tricky bit is when you have to stick a Santander on every corner, especially if you've painted the piece first, as glue and paint don't really form a lasting bond.

The secret is having a good quality scalpel to remove the flash before fixing into position, scouring the edges so their rough also helps with bonding.

What about the gloss paint, though and when do you apply it?

One of the problems with plastic modelling is windows and interior and exterior because if you paint the insides then the glue won't stick but if you don't then there's 'white bits' underneath that spoil the effect.

I have a good quality scalpel set as well with a set of different blades, but it's the glue-paint stuff that I used to struggle with.

Airplane glue? I thought it was only good for sniffing.
