Join with Hart and Lennon to restart the project of restructuring the old England team in claret and blue.

He was superb for Chelsea on the Turf last year.

Linked with a move back to Villa earlier in the week.

Good player, but with the likely cost, I’d rather see the money spent improving our attacking options.

(Can’t believe he’s 33 now,btw!)

If it was a short-term deal to the end of the season, might be worth considering but given that Gibson should be back soon, this is not a priority position.

The last thing we need is a centre half. We need midfielders

Mee, Tarkowski, Gibson Long..

Some fans saying that our midfield are not creating much and that we can't buy a goal.

We don't need another centre back, it is far from a priority, but then again if he is ex- Burnley that is all some fans need to know.

"Not for me" you are joking aren't you. When we played Chelsea at the Turf he was the best player on the park. I'd have him instantly, unfortunately we can't afford him.

To be fair hazard only played 15 or 20 minutes in that game - though he was pretty special for that short period.

Cahill was brilliant that night - but then again Giroud, Pedro and Kante were even better.

We need quality players where ever they turn up. Our Centre Halves have all made very poor mistakes throughout the season if we're honest and Cahill is a level above them.
The better quality players you bring in the less help they need from their teammates, then the system doesn't have to be so rigid and the attacking players can concentrate on going forward.
