I honestly thought, aside from his goal - in the first half he was a bit hit and miss. But second half, different story - and to see him turn the accelerator on in the 88th minute to provide Ashley with our 4th was immense. We've not seen that level of fitness from him yet I don't think? Showed a lot of doubters what he's made of today.

Lets be honest he'd been just ok as part of a decent performance until he scored. After that he was brilliant so hopefully the boost of the goal and the 2nd half performance will see him discover some of his old magic and help us climb the table.

No need to overegg his performance today what we saw from his goal onward was superb

Text a few who went on and they all think Vydra is helping Lennon. My stream kept going on and off, but it seems good time that as soon as the quality of Vydra starts, Lennon goes up 4 gears.

Absolutely fantastic performance. Excellent in defence, always shot for the ball, got a very deserved goal at the back post, but most importantly for me, got himself into positions where he could put dangerous balls into the box… And my goodness, he did that!

Just shows what knowing that Brady is closing in on a return does for a player. Players are competitive and can drop their form knowing they are guaranteed starters. Not saying it is done on purpose but i think players can mentally eek an extra % or 2 out of their game when their place comes under thrreat. That run they wouldnt normally make or that extra touch to prove they deserve the shirt

Imo yes there is, a player that has suffered with depression, confidence and feel good factor is everything.

Get behind him, everything that he does well over applaud and we may just him in fine form more often.

I am behind him and mentioned on the match thread how pleased I was for him. All im saying is there was enough brilliance there from him today for us to big him up without having to exaggerate and go completely OTT.

Immense today, but like i said a few weeks back it helps
A. When you have 2 to aim for, and
B. A number 10 who will burst a gut to get in the right place for a pull back.

I think for a wide man of Lennon's type game, today was near damn a perfect. A goal and 2 assists is all you can ask for..
Oh and he did the sh1tty stuff too

Definitely a confidence player , once he got his goal he was brilliant so hard working , tackling tracking back , running with the ball and beating players, before his goal he was missing in action

Going forward he was immense today, genuinely moments of magic, but there were still too many times he left Taylor exposed by not dropping back deep enough to cover, especially first half.

He's been dropping deep all season that's why he has been ineffective , against sides outside the top6 he should be given the right to roam

Much better and clearly gained confidence as the game progressed but in fairness to the lad he needs to be given the ball higher up the pitch.

Definitely worth his shirt today. still annoys the hell out of me when he wanders in to the centre of the pitch and Taylor gets the ball at left back, to then look up the field at open space and no one in it. But fair play to him fantastic finish and assist, and gave them something to worry about on the left, good to see.

I have called him but today he was brilliant. One error in first half but crowd didn't get on his back which obviously helped him. The players celebrating with him when he scored shows just how popular he is,great moment.

I'm gonna over egg his performance he was outstanding today ....I've yet to see ANY player to be superb over a 90 minute period Ever! Well done Aaron Lennon is all that's needed.

That's the player I had hoped we signed, and look what a difference it made. Hopefully the goal has done him the world of good. His defensive work was very good in the first half and he was unplayable in the second half.

What helped is the amount of space which Bournemouth generously provided him with in the final 30 minutes. If Lennon has the space to run into he will exploit it but generally our games are far too tight for him to be afforded that luxury.,

Hard to choose MOM, for me there were two MenOM, JBG and Aaron. Lennon making that run on the 88th minute and his cross to Ash was top drawer.

As other posters on this thread have said about Lennon,he is clearly a confidence player. Prior to his goal, he contributed nothing to the side, often hiding and choosing an easy option of laying the ball back. The second half was like watching a different player. he tracked back and did the dirty stuff, went at their defence with purpose, and looked a real handful. If he is to retain his place in the side, with the return of Brady on the cards, we need to see a lot more like his second half showing today.

Not for me, he sometimes seems to drift inside and not always follows his man down the line, leaving Taylor with two. I do agree he is most effective when going forward. I am not saying he never does it because he did it superbly second half, he just sometimes seemed to lose interest in the earlier games this season.

That said, I don't really feel he deserves negatives today with a performance like that.

There's no doubt that he poses a threat when he gets the ball on the wing and
can make a run and be given an option of a cross or pull back.

Let's hope he can continue in the same vein.
Or least more often than he has of late.
Having Vydra on may well have helped.
