As usual when we have some self interest in a result I'm looking for a draw with a few serious injuries, yellow and red cards for both clubs.

Great goal by Brooks.
Already a better game than ours yesterday.
I wish he played as good as this while at Burnley.

Is this the Bournemouth we beat 4-0 a few days ago? I'm watching Dad's Army on Gold at the moment, but might switch over later.

The picture from Bournemouth is dreadful. It might be the lighting at Bournemouth as it was fine for us yesterday.

These two teams keep passing the ball from one man to another, of the same team too, and I don't understand why.

Sakho was real "curates egg" there. He made a fair few nice strong decisive tackles but also gave the ball away too often and dived into a couple of tackles in no-mans-land a few times leaving his team in danger; then he gave away a stupid pen by waving his arm/elbow in somebody's face in the box.
Cool pen by Stan though.

Re: Bournemouth v Palace
Good result for Bournemouth clearly a much better team at home,at least we stay in 12th,and Palace lost when Zaha started blimey.
I had too double check the attendance 10,199 is that a record low Premier League gate.

In fairness they might get a few more than 10,000 if the ground was a bit bigger AND if it was actually in Bournemouth rather than in some twilight zone in the middle of what appears to be open tundra!

Possibly this is why they have plans to build a new stadium, what it shows is that gate receipts matter little compared to TV monies and wealthy owners.tim_noone wrote:Great little ground with a good atmosphere ..I'm sure they'd get more than us if the ground was bigger.

And thats why they would get bigger gates..wealthy owners buying quality players would create a lot of interest in the club.they would easily get 30.000 on.good catchment area also......tiger76 wrote:Possibly this is why they have plans to build a new stadium, what it shows is that gate receipts matter little compared to TV monies and wealthy owners.

I'm sure that's not so Dermot. I have been 3 times now, the latest being the season before last when we were beaten 2-1. Granted I'd had a few bevvies after flying via Southampton and catching the train, but we got taxis from Bournemouth up to the ground and it was bloomin' miles. And we had to catch buses back to Bournemouth after which again took ages. The ground is definitely not in the town and is more into Boscomb than Bournemouth I think and there's a huge park surrounding it. (Unless of course the taxi driver recognised an opportunity to rip off some very squiffy northern idiots and actually drove around the block for 35 minutes before chucking us out 25 yards from where we got in and charged us 30 quid for it! Always a possibility)dermotdermot wrote:Once again Dark Cloud speak with fork tongue. The ground is fairly central. Only a few hundred yards from the beach. The first actual bit of green expanse.

Strange that for all the beautiful football Eddie gets his team playing, they had less possession than we had at Cardiff and we just boot it anywhere soon as we get it.
Just shows how silly using stats is.

Dont forget Bournemouth has been bankrolled by a Russian petrochemicals tycoon shrouded in secrecy.

Re: Bournemouth v Palace
The Vitality Stadium is situated in Kings Park, located in Boscombe. The distance from the Bournemouth Railway Station to the Stadium is approximately 1.5 miles, practically all of it along one road (Holdenhurst Road) and is at most, a 30 minute walk. I think you were done !!!Dark Cloud wrote:I'm sure that's not so Dermot. I have been 3 times now, the latest being the season before last when we were beaten 2-1. Re: Bournemouth v Palace
Bournemouth aren't massively possession based. They've real pace and direct threat in their side these days. I think their a really good side. They dont just pass it for the sake of the stats anymore.claretonthecoast1882 wrote:Strange that for all the beautiful football Eddie gets his team playing, they had less possession than we had at Cardiff and we just boot it anywhere soon as we get it.

I was thinking watching it. Apart from the top 6 teams. If you could put 2 sides together from the PL to try and win it, a joint Bournemouth/Burnley team would be bloody strong.
Re: Bournemouth v Palace
They look pleasing on the eye. Kind of the opposite to us really. The idea that they would suddenly get an extra 20,000 fans is fanciful.

Re: Bournemouth v Palace
Maybe they could combine the two. Anyone diving or simulating or exaggerating injury/contact could suffer a savage end by insertion of some electrodes, or the triggering of a land mine. I'm sure the screen writers could come up with all sorts of intriguing plot-lines that would keep Zaha (who doesn't dive, of course) on his feet.Woodleyclaret wrote:Bournemouth are a bag of crap a media darling team.Palace are worse.I am switching over to Midsummer Murders its more exciting
Barnaby would probably need to be a bit fitter to keep up with play, but other than that, he'd probably make the right decision after an hour or so. If not, they could edit it before the replay got put out on Dave

In 35 minutes you could have driven up to the New Forest and back. He obviously took the ‘scenic’ route.Dark Cloud wrote:I'm sure that's not so Dermot. As somebody has said you're hardly going to boss possession if you only play with 2 in midfield !!!. It has never been about possession it about what you do with it!!!claretonthecoast1882 wrote:Strange that for all the beautiful football Eddie gets his team playing, they had less possession than we had at Cardiff and we just boot it anywhere soon as we get it.
