Re: Zoe Ball
Not at all. I have an issue with the BBC ruining programmes in the pursuit of diversity. Evans was a bit up himself and there are only so many times you can listen to him mention himself, family and his attempts at running before it becomes like a scratched record. The bigger mess is what they made of the drive time show. Mayo was an excellent broadcaster and had a great team and features on his show. Sadly he was born with a pair of balls, which just won't do for the BBC. So Jo Whiley was foisted onto the show and destroyed it. She usually manages about 30 minutes before she mentions that she has been to Glastonbury. This reduces to 10 minutes 2 months either side of the festival.Swizzlestick wrote:Sara Cox would’ve been perfect for the breakfast show and is very popular. Sounds like it’s you who has more of an issue with women.
If they weren’t regretting their decision, they probably are now. A bit like Nick Grimshaw was on Radio 1, she just sounds a bit bored in the morning.
I used to switch between R2 and Absolute on the drive into work and without fail it was Mayo heading for home. As I now have a DAB radio and can link my phone to the car, i cannot tell you the last time i listened to a BBC radio station.

Re: Zoe Ball
Coxy is great, funny and northern, but Zoe Ball is just Chris Evans with tits. Her show is EXACTLY the same as his. Same features, different titles - and i'm bored stiff with it. Ken is ok, and I love JV, but that's it until Coxy. And don't get me started about the weekends...
If there was a black, lesbian, disabled vegan, the BBC would be creaming themselves to fit her into prime time tv or radio, regardless of talent.
Lost all faith in the BBC as a credible media.

Re: Zoe Ball
Cox is brilliant, Ball is cringeworthy but I still listen, it’s really forced humour... like that bloke in the office that you laugh along with until he turns away, and avoid at all costs on a night out
Re: Zoe Ball
Like almost all main stream media nowadays (led by the BBC) it's all about sacrificing quality in the name of equality. Sarah Cox should have got the breakfast show and Zoe Ball should have got the weekend show between 24:00 and 25:00 on the 7th weekend in Octember.

I also drive for a living, and have it on in the background, usually for the traffic updates. She is SO annoying, and I have a little bet with myself every day that within 6 mins or so she has called the traffic girl, news girl or weather girl, " gorgeous girl ". I win every day. Get her off the airwaves, NOW!!

Zoe Ball, the epitome of nepotism.
Jo Wiley is the only one has has half an idea about music. I can't bear listening to Ball and/or Cox, thank god for radio 6.

Sounds like you need to re-tune your radio, there must be other stations that provide traffic updates.Claretitus wrote:I also drive for a living, and have it on in the background, usually for the traffic updates. If the listeners keep plummeting they may not have much choice but to ditch her.

Re: Zoe Ball
she is , and always has been ****** awful. But the deadly dull bosses decided the public needed this gushing nonentity blurting out rubbish every day.
Re: Zoe Ball
I was only a kid when Zoe Ball was on Radio 1 but I bloody hated her with a passion, then I remember they replaced her with Cox and hit new levels of annoying, then that cotton girl straight from presenting kids tv to radio! The bbc really are amazing at shoving talentless female presenters down peoples ears, there is some amazingly talented women out there but they stick to the same old tried and tested crap over and over again.
Re: Zoe Ball
I've switched off, almost entirely, from Radio 2, since Chris Evans left.
I really struggle with both Sara Cox and Zoe Ball. I find both of them hard work to listen to. Rather monotonous.
I'm now tuned almost exclusively to Radio X.
Chris Moyles in the morning - very entertaining. Johnny Vaughan 4-7, hilarious in between the dismal playlist. (The podcast cuts out the 3 Gerry Cinnamon records they play on repeat.)

Ha ha! Sorry bud. It would be even funnier if the plurality emphasis was the other way around, But then it would probably be edited out on here.willsclarets wrote:I think I was too subtle, that was my intended joke
