Bolton Wanderers
Bolton Wanderers
HRMC issued a winding up order plus another company after what they are owed. Last month minutes from administration and a points deduction.
Bolton fans want to know what's going on and yesterday the chairman looked like the money loaned by Davies had a charge put on it. Complex stuff.
Chairman paid himself £500000 last season and £125000 to his son.
As a fan you wouldn't be happy and would have plenty to shout about. I was supposed it puts it into perspective with those demanding to know and been kept in the dark about Brady's leg.

It's fine. Davies doesn't want his money back.
It's all largesse.

It wasn’t Jack Walker who sold the fiddlers into doogydoo but his family.

They'll stumble around like some drunk with a begging bowl out.
At some point I expect someone else to bail them out.
If it was any other business it would be put out of its misery and shut down.

If they want sympathy from me they’ll be waiting a long, long time. January 2010 is still very fresh in my memory.

Not necessarily true. Several businesses in totally different industries to football are often bailed out or taken over despite horrendous mismanagement.GodIsADeeJay81 wrote:They'll stumble around like some drunk with a begging bowl out.

Very true. There are any number of Zombie businesses surviving due to low interest rates and QE.RocketLawnChair wrote:Not necessarily true. Several businesses in totally different industries to football are often bailed out or taken over despite horrendous mismanagement.

Several businesses would also be shut down and have it's debts recalled.RocketLawnChair wrote:Not necessarily true. Several businesses in totally different industries to football are often bailed out or taken over despite horrendous mismanagement.
Football is fairly unique in that clubs can sink themselves into eye watering debts and there is usually someone else willing to throw money into the bottomless pit.

I want them to thrash Venkys tomorrow. After that, I don't care what happens to them.

Really? It was awful at the time and the anger took a while to shake.Lord Beamish wrote:If they want sympathy from me they’ll be waiting a long, long time. January 2010 is still very fresh in my memory.
But in hindsight, would you want to have kept Coyle, and do you think we would be where we are?
Still, don't have to like them though haha
Re: Bolton Wanderers
2010 was an awful long time ago....but I still haven't got over what John McGinley did to us at the Turf many years earlier (!!) so I am happy to see them rot.
They played the billy big ******** club over us for a number of years and certainly used their "riches" over us when they persuaded Judas to join them. Now they are paying the consequences for poor financial management and its only a matter of time before they get points deservedly deducted.
I`d be up for Burnley buying their ground for a couple of million and selling it to Home Bargains for £3m.

Hindsight is 20/20. We couldn’t see what the future held in 2010, just like we cant now. It’s more the Bolton Fans’ flippant arrogance at the time that sticks in my craw. I hope those self same fans are suffering now.JTClaret wrote:Really? It was awful at the time and the anger took a while to shake.

Re: Bolton Wanderers
Is it money loaned by Davies? I thought that was all written off. I thought the contentious loan was from Blu Marble via Dean Holdsworth.
Re: Bolton Wanderers
My understanding reading the reports last week was that it was Davies (or his estate technically) that agreed to lend the club a few million last week as they were hours from going into administration and getting 12 points deducted.
Re: Bolton Wanderers
Ah, I didn't know that's where the money had come from last week. It was initially announced that there had been money but not where from.

Was it a loan or a gift? I know it was very close to his demise.TVC15 wrote:My understanding reading the reports last week was that it was Davies (or his estate technically) that agreed to lend the club a few million last week as they were hours from going into administration and getting 12 points deducted.

There was one or two of them who frequently visited Clarets Mad at the time that I'd happily see sobbing if Bolton go bust.Lord Beamish wrote:Hindsight is 20/20. I know how childish that sounds but I don't care.

This is what I don't understand. Davies made the loan and then Anderson put a charge on it against the club.
Ever since this Blu Marble / Sports Shield takeover there have been a lot smoke and mirrors (I think the saying goes).
Not long back they sold a lot of assets, I'm guessing by putting a charge on the loan it has something to do with the debt and making more attractive to a potential buyer.
