Why do we always struggle against the bottom teams?
Just the same last season.
Out of the relegated clubs we lost to West Brom, Swansea & drew with Stoke. In addition, we didn't manage to beat either Brighton or Huddersfield, two of the promoted sides.
Yet bring on the better teams and we tend to see more energy, ideas, better movement, basically an all round better game from us. We got some great results against the better teams last year, and even this, stuck four past Bournemouth.
Why do we seem to struggle against teams we are expected to get good results from?

Re: Why do we always struggle against the bottom teams?
Last season I think we go we got 24pts from 14 games against the bottom 7 and 23 pts from 12 games against the 6 teams immediately behind us so I dont think there's much difference. Taking away the top 6 we were just competitive against the rest of the division and it was just fine margins who we did and didnt pick up the points against.
This season we've picked up 5 pts from playing the 4 worst teams and 3 pts from the 4 higher teams so I dont think there is really much in what you say

I was hoping there would be a bit more constructive criticism than that.Top Claret wrote:Serving todays shite we would struggle against any team

Most garbage teams have tell centre halves and midfielders who will scrap for the second ball. Therein lies our problem whoosh lose the ball and watch as combative midfielders pick it up.

It is difficult to play sginst lower teams. They play hard and tough. So we do too.

We are one of the bottom teams, let’s not kid ourselves.

We consistently launch the ball onto the head of big 6ft 7 clumsy slow central defenders and we defend with 10 men behind the ball at all times. This isn't a new thing, we are useless with the ball.

We've been punching above our weight. Got some amazing results against top 6 sides in previous seasons.
Against bottom sides we just look ordinary.
