Re: Burnley to shake up backroom staff
I opened that link and what was the first thing I saw?
To the right of Sean's big photograph, second article down
Dyche: We should of been out of sight.
I f**cking give up, I tell ya!

I never said they didn't.KRBFC wrote:The critics on here had a point all along though and clearly the club agree with the critics about our recruitment.
Now is their chance to put forward their ideas to the club in the form of a job application.

Re: Burnley to shake up backroom staff
Wasnt Baldwins role at Bradford more to do with the fans and the go between for fans. He was very successful and helped start lots of initiatives which made it a proper club in my eyes regards the relationship between club and fans.DCWat wrote:Probably a fair comment, KRBFC. There have obviously been a number of problems with recruitment, aside from just the ever increasing market.
On face value, this sounds like a sensible approach and hopefully one of those roles that can pay for itself, in the not too distant future.
I know that Baldwin has had a level of involvement in transfers so I wonder where his role fits into this and if it will mean his responsibilities change too.

Re: Burnley to shake up backroom staff
I did state though after the transfer window that MG had been too busy in another country at one point which meant a deal didnt go through. I was shot down at the time but think a move like this shows that at present we are lacking in that area. Glad they have recognised this and we have learnt. Shows we are receptive to change

Re: Burnley to shake up backroom staff
Do we have the right recruitment team and scouting network to recruit a Technical Director? Or are we going to try and poach West Brom's?

100% agree with the Steve Walsh comments. I'd be delighted if he came to us. I'd like to think we are targeting the people we want, rather than just hoping good candidates apply

Re: Burnley to shake up backroom staff
Koeman was a disaster. During Walsh's time last summer Everton signed Pickford, Keane, Rooney, Sigurdsson, Klasson, Martinez and Ramirez (mainly). The only one that didn't really work out was Klasson but you could see with they signed him based on his previous exploits. Some very decent players in that list.Quickenthetempo wrote:Steve Walsh was a disaster at Everton.

Let’s hope it gets us at least 3 over the line in January I suspect it will be a longer curve than that though.

He could be the best paid technical director in the Championship by the time he gets his office chair warm! (Might be the ONLY technical director in the Championship for that matter)

Actually, most of the “critics” seem to want rid of Sean Dyche. Fortunately the club is looking to proactively move forward rather than throwing the baby out with the bath water.Devils_Advocate wrote:Why all they wanted was a shake up which now seems to be happening. Well done Burnley FC

Re: Burnley to shake up backroom staff
Probably overdue. Let’s hope it hasn’t come too late.
Stale is the best way to describe a lot of the performances this season. Dyche himself talks a lot about progressing and moving the club forward. On the pitch at least, I don’t think we did over the summer.
With Defour & Brady still absent, I think there’s a strong argument to say that we’ve got less quality on the pitch than we did a year ago.

Re: Burnley to shake up backroom staff
Looks to me like the critics are sick of watching boring unentertaining football and nothing else - I doubt you'll find a single person who wants rid of Dyche for any reason other than that. I for one don't want him to go but I want the board and whoever the new TD is to give him more technically gifted players to work with to see what he can really do.scouseclaret wrote:Actually, most of the “critics” seem to want rid of Sean Dyche. We were certainly playing some good football up to the point Brady was injured and then Defour.Vegas Claret wrote:Looks to me like the critics are sick of watching boring unentertaining football and nothing else - I doubt you'll find a single person who wants rid of Dyche for any reason other than that. Re: Burnley to shake up backroom staff
I'd say we played some superb (not good) football in patches up to that point no doubt, but then the club failed to "replace" either in the summer when it was clear to everyone that they needed the reinforcements. I think we've played decent football for a combined 60 mins so far this season, the rest has been hoofball. We've shown we have decent players and most of our goals (if not all) have come from when we've played football on the deck rather than just hoofing it, we create chances when we play it on the deck - so why on earth do we continue to play like Stockport in 1983 ?Steve-Harpers-perm wrote:We were certainly playing some good football up to the point Brady was injured and then Defour.

Re: Burnley to shake up backroom staff
Agree hopefully Defour back will see a much needed change.
Re: Burnley to shake up backroom staff
Certain posters will sit and argue toss to provoke arguments with the so called ''only negative'' fans but when the club act upon it, it shows the ''only negative'' fans' concerns were legitimate and not ''moaning for the sake of it''. This news certainly seems to be a step forward for the club, a step forward many ''negative moaners'' wanted and ''moaned'' about.DCWat wrote:Probably a fair comment, KRBFC. Great news, hopefully a giant step forward for us, now for Garlick to put his recruitment experience into recruiting the right man for the job.

I love the idea that the negative whoppers only cry so much and moan about everything due to caring.
Explains why they vanish after a win.

I think any technical director is only as good as the budget provides.

I disagree. A good technical director will find bargains within the budget provided.bfcjg wrote:I think any technical director is only as good as the budget provides.

Never sure that it was just a case of him buggering off to Rangers - there might have been a bit of pushing from our end.ZizkovClaret wrote:Just hope its not someone like that crank who buggered off to Rangers. He was great, as long as they were players who had, or were still paying for Brentford.

In which case - pushing from whom Garlic or SDClaretTony wrote:Never sure that it was just a case of him buggering off to Rangers - there might have been a bit of pushing from our end.
If SD, was that because he (SD) wanted full say on all transfer dealings - would not bode well for a close working relationship with any future Technical Director if so

Isn't Shebby Singh available? Surely it's time we had a global advisor.
