One of the problems with having such an obviously corrupt and self-interested president of the US is he can trade foreign policy in exchange for personal enrichment.
It's pretty clear that one of the seasons he denies Russian interference is that it's in his personal interests. As is his denial of Mohammed Bone-saw's involvement in the murder of Jamal Khashoggi. So it's not a great stretch of the imagination that he is willing to give Turkey what it needs in order for them to stfu about the Saudi Crown Prince ordering the murder of Khashoggi, which in turn protects his interests with MBS.

Three months ago the Trump administration said they won't pull out of Syria until Iran and it's buddies do it first. Instead, today Trump (edit: seems to have, or is considering - what a **** show, even the Pentagon isn't sure) announced the withdrawal of US forces, completely abandoning their Kurdish allies and leaving them vulnerable to, well, everyone.

A nice little Christmas present for Turkey, Putin, MBS, Iran, etc., and a big **** you to the Kurds.

Good news for Trump Tower Riyadh though.

Before becoming US president he/she should be grilled by their peers to establish that they are fit for the job.
Had that happened in the present incumbent case it is unlikely he would have stayed the course?
The geezer is a nut case.

It's pure hypocrisy for anyone to say that Islamic state commit acts of terrorism that are any worse than what goes on in Saudi Arabia. Was the bomb in Manchester any worse than the Saudi's deliberately killing a bus load of school children in Yemen, for example?
