In response to Danny.
Another idiot here.
It’s one thing putting in a poor performance in the 4th division with a poor team and 4000 on the Turf. It’s another being outplayed by of one of the best teams in Europe and losing 0-5. We’re disappointing at the moment for reasons well stated.
Dyche is without doubt an excellent manager and motivator. He’s proved that over his tenure. Football is not a straight line you don’t win every week. You don’t play well every week. Plenty of other managers and teams demonstrate that. The best teams aside of course. Things will improve. Stay with it.

Would you say there's a bigger gap between Burnley and City now than say Burnley and Liverpool in the 90s when we drew 0-0 at the Turf?

Well there certainly is in money terms and probably in the quality of players as well.

A huge gap getting bigger all the time. Never thought I'd see or admit to the emergence of a European league but I think that that is the inevitable outcome.

Yes I would say the quality gap is definitely bigger. That’s not to say we can’t compete from time to time. The 1-1 draw with City at the Turf was probably our best performance last season along with Chelsea away. We should also have drawn with Liverpool at home as we did away. Expectations built on last season are difficult to maintain. There aren’t many reasons to be cheerful at the moment. I get that. The other challenge is that the mid table teams are very strong nowadays. So, any momentum is difficult. We have to play to the squad limitations and grind out points. It’s not pretty but we do get the odd nugget, 4-0 v Bournemouth for example. We are building slowly but so are the competition. From a much sounder base.

Have we grown more seats, or is it the large number of season tickets being offered
back to the club for resale by people who can't stand the sight of blood ? :D

Is this groups returning unsold tickets or club holding up tickets?

Not really.... I bet there's lots of Chelsea fans who can't get tickets. Away fans count as well.

Just wondering how many Chelsea fans travel up from West London. On leaving this fixture over the last few seasons there are usually no more than two or three coaches lined up so I'm assuming that many of their fans on the day have travelled from places nearer to us than London. Just a thought.

Three or four of the Premier League London clubs regularly charter trains for their fans for away games.

Last season Chelsea charged just a tenner for their charter train to Burnley.

Quite an obvious selling tactic. Let people believe the tickets are beginning to sell out, people who were deliberating going have to make split descisions to buy.

Then release a small amount more to repeat the process. To maximise sales opportunity.

I called down yesterday to try and get two tickets for others (I have a season ticket). There weren’t many left and they were all singles, so I didnt buy as needed two together.

It’s harder to get rid of those last few singles. It’s pretty much sold out.
