Well get beaten but not by a cricket score. Two nil City.

Can you see Hart playing a blinder against his old club?Hoping for a draw and everyone putting their bodies in the way of countless City chances

Hoping for something like the 0-0 at Old Trafford a couple of seasons ago but can't help thinking they'll be too good and score at some point. If we can keep them out for 60/70 minutes and end up at 1,2 or at worst 3 nil - then that won't be too damaging.

City's recent poor run of form, only getting a draw and failing to score in their last game, is set to continue. While in such turmoil, players like Sterling and Aguero won't be relishing the prospect of coming up against a Burnley team who have been so prolific of late. Pep is likely to yet again set his team out to play defensively, his tactic being to flood our half of the pitch in the hope that it restricts our number of chances by attempting to pin us back. While obviously unable to say so in public, he'd probably be happy to get away with a draw. Of course most Burnley fans will be looking for all three points, but we know that a point away in the premier league isn't a bad result, most would be willing to settle for that if city dig in..

Should we at least draw city, panick is likely to set in at Chelsea. They're not going to be looking forward to a trip to one of the premier league's big boys when we're on a roll. A journey up north to such a massive club whose name is synonymous with the history of the beautiful game, while being a privilege, can also prove daunting.

Not wishing to be greedy, I'd settle for four points from the next two games. Question is, will it be city or Chelsea against whom we'll drop the two points?

Hopefully City have one eye on their UCL trip to Ukraine, still can't see past a 2 or 3 goal defeat, the Chelsea game gives us a fighting chance of a result, but even if we lose the next 2 i'll not go overboard, our season depends on beating the likes of Newcastle,Brighton etc, anything from the top six is a bonus.

Sterling vs Taylor.

Not a good thought.

This is a free hit and hope the goal difference doesn’t take a hit

Certainly consistent. How do you think the "gone" legs of Ward would get on? TBH I would rather have Taylor against Sterling than Wardy right now.

We were pasted in that game, we played against 10 that's when we scored our goals. Fair enough hard to score 3 against Chelsea but we were holding on like crazy towards the end.

Good game though but we won't beat city, they aren't in turmoil like Chelsea seemed to be last year.

I don't think we'll ship 5 KRBFC,but City will dominate the ball, realistically it's a damage control afternoon,if the performance is decent and we lose say 3-0,but go down with a fight, akin to last season at the Etihad that's the best we can hope for,City have too much quality for most of the league, the 2 games they have dropped points in this season, should have both been wins,at Wolves they conceded a hand balled goal, and at Liverpool if Mahrez sticks the pen away late on they take all 3 points.

This could be City 6-0 Burnley
81% possession to City won’t be far off.

I can’t see anything other than a mauling. They’re just too good, and we are pants this season.

Don't talk utter crap! They started with 11 men! We murdered them in the first half and managed the 2nd half well under intense pressure. But of course you wouldn't want to give Burnley any credit!

Wonder if we will go with 2 strikers up front or revert to Hendrick in midfield.

This match should prove an interesting line up.

An early goal for us will be a factor in this game. If we allow city to go in at half time with the score at nils each, they are going to benefit from a psychological boost. They may quite well come out for the second half believing they could get something from the game, we need to take out any positivity they may gain and not give them anything to fight for.
Our tactic of allowing the opposition plenty of possession and lulling them into a false sense of security should work quite well with this lot, simply draw them in then hit them with our fast pace and slick passing. Before you know it, they'll be looking at each other asking what happened there!

As a lifelong Burnley fan I'd be delighted to see your prediction be wrong. However, more worryingly I suspect that you would be absolutely delighted to see your prediction fulfilled. There's nothing as good as backing the favourite, especially in a 2 horse race. Keep it up.

What's funny about KRBFC is that he calls for a bit of realism then predicts we'll see as much as 20% possession against city. Oh the irony.

Some light reading on this thread with humour, banter and the eternal optimism one expects from fellow Clarets. From post 62 onwards a more caustic tone was set with a 'forum of chancers waffling delusional crap', 'utter horseshite' and the most ironic of questions posed 'is anybody normal on here'? Add more than a hint of ageism and being told to f**k off and the thread sort of loses its sparkle. And all because I didn't offer a prediction. Worth having a read through just to see how many others didn't.

How about you stick to the topic and stop quoting my posts with your childish petty waffle then because I don't want to read it, you tried to start an argument about ''who cares and who doesn't''

''you don't care''
''yes I do''
''no you don't I can read your mind through my keyboard''
''Ok you don't care either''
''Yes I do''

I fear we will get a right mauling unfortunately, possibly 5-0.
I am also a lifelong BFC fan. If we can keep the score under 5 I will consider it a reasonable result.

What makes you think we'll lose heavily when a team like Brighton, that have only won 2 out of their last 23 away from home only lost 2-0?
