West Ham tickets

Post by TonbridgeClaret » Sat Oct 13, 2018 11:27 pm

Now showing sold out online. Anyone know whether the club is likely to apply for more tickets, as the game is still three weeks away?

Been on general sale for the past 9 days so really no excuse if you wanted a ticket unless there was a last minute change of circumstance.

Very much doubt the club will apply for more. They didn’t even do that for Leicester last year

The game is in the 3rd of November I would be Very surprised.... If it is the case they have sold out and I don't think it is..would selling to neutral fans be the reason for making yet more money?

Does seem very odd if it's the case that we have sold out already.

We've now played them twice in the new stadium so no longer a new ground and it's not the best view on offer.

It's still three weeks to go, not in particularly good form and Man City tickets are still on sale with only a week to go.

You could still get tickets for the Fulham game at the same point in time, hadn't played them for a while and that might have been a better choice for a weekend away in London.

Got a really small allocation for West Ham though haven't we? So wouldn't say it's that strange we've sold out.

Not that strange....like Arsenal last game last season give tickets to the neutrals at inflated prices it's only fair.

Surely it's a supply and demand business and if it's 3.000 tickets max for Burnley fans don't pick a number out of the air....the demand is still there and the game is 18 days away. I thought ticket touting was over it clearly isn't.1272 tickets allocated. That's about 1700 light that is very poor. So are there going to be 1700 empty seats? who will end up with those tickets ?Can anyone answer that question.

West Ham will have started selling the tickets to their own fans. Not a chance we'd have sold anywhere near 3000 for this one, probably 1500 max.

Generally the club get a minimum allocation on a pay for what you sell basis and can then opt for an increased allocation on the basis that the club has to pay for all tickets, regardless of whether they are sold.

This tends to apply more in modern stadiums which have very flexible segregation so can sell the remaining blocks to home fans (or neutrals).

Sometimes we get the allocation right, sometimes we get it badly wrong. There's been a slight improvement this year in that the allocations are now announced so you can gauge the likelihood of getting a ticket but for whatever reason the club seems unable to give updates other than "on sale" or "sold out".

Selling over 1,200 tickets with three weeks to go for a game so far away does seem a bit strange when we are out of form and we could still get Fulham tickets.

I think we might be the only club that doesn't do it but it would be of no benefit to us if we did.

People might have cash again now after spending fortunes travelling around Europe.

As a club we will always take the lower allocation as you don't get any money what so ever for selling away tickets in the premier league, but a risk of paying 30k for unsold ones. It's a no brainer.

Be interesting to see if we take the full allocation for Everton or not this year?

Plenty available on stubhub(and other sites) where you download your tickets. 2 seats together on the halfway line upper tier 28 euro's each.

West Ham must let you sell your STs on.

Can't really blame the club with West Ham but what about Spurs, which looks like lots of people are planning on going? I get the impression the club will use not selling out at City as an excuse to just automatically take reduced allocations now without judging every game on its individual merits.

They judge every game on its merits - the West Ham take up is very sensible given what we've taken to away games this season.

Problem is with the London games people need to book trains etc 9/10 weeks in advance. If I didn't have many Claret points would I be willing to spend 50 quid on a train ticket for say Spurs away, knowing that if we take a reduced allocation I won't get one? I probably just wouldn't bother, and then you get out of the habit of going and our away followings get smaller and smaller.

No, we just haven't got a system that re-stocks tickets online without somebody cross checking they haven't been sold in the shop at weekends.

Despite some demanding we take the extra allocation.

West Ham have a full page ad in tonight's Evening Standard: tickets £35 adults and £1 (yes, just £1) for under 16s.

You might need to learn a bit of rhyming slang - but you will still be able to wear your Claret and Blue.

Xmas lights will be on (I guess) in Regents Street by then - and, it's only 3 days after Halloween and 2 days before Bonfire Night.

Isn't it also the end of the kids half-term?

I'm hoping we're safe by March otherwise it will be a tough ask with the run in we have.

Cardiff at home looks to be the only safety net.

Taken from the Away grounds guide

The London Stadium is served by three railway stations all of which are around a 10-15 minute walk away. These are; Stratford, Stratford International and Hackney Wick. The stadium and stations are well signposted around the area.

Stratford Station is located next to the large Westfield Shopping Centre. It is the main station in the area, as not only does it have overground connections to London Liverpool Street and Clapham Junction, but is also has an Underground station which is located both on the Jubilee and Central tube lines. In addition, it is also located on the Docklands Light Railway.

Stratford International Railway Station is located on the other side of Westfield Shopping Centre and is served by local services from London St Pancras, the journey time from which is just seven minutes. It is also located on the Docklands Light Railway.

Hackney Wick Railway Station is located on the opposite (West) side of the stadium compared to the Stratford Stations and Westfield Shopping Centre. It is served by trains from Clapham Junction, Richmond and Stratford. It also stops at Highbury and Islington, which is also situated on the Victoria Tube line and can be a handy for those fans travelling down to London Euston, which is around 20 minutes journey time away. Please note that due to its limited size, fans are being discouraged from using Hackney Wick. However it is open on matchdays and I'm sure if arriving in good time, it will be fine to use before the match. After the game it might not be a good choice, as the trains arriving at Hackney Wick, will probably be already jam packed with fans who will have already got on at the preceding Stratford Station.

I have been informed that after the match all fans that are wanting to go to Stratford Station, are sent on long set route (this avoiding going into the shopping centre) and is stop/started in places to regulate the flow of fans, before being finally met with huge queues for the trains themsleves.

Euston, I'd get the Victoria line up to Highbury and Islington and then change to the overground there to Hackney Wick or Stratford (personally I'd go for Hackney Wick).

Don’t do the tube. We went last year. Walk to St Pancras and get the train to Stratford international. Takes less than 10 minutes. Afterwards it’s a bit of a faf because of the stupid system outside but we were back at St Pancras for 5:30 and we stayed till the end. Lack of pubs near the ground. We drank near Euston.

I think it’s the easiest ground in London to get to - but probably the worst.

1st time we played there, Wednesday night game, we went to Stratford International. Easy enough before the game but a nightmare after the game. Away fans were taken on a routemarch from the stadium back to Stratford International. It took us 35 minutes to walk back there, just reached Euston with a couple of minutes to spare for the last train back to Manchester at 11pm.

Last season we decided to go to Hackney Wick station instead of Stratford Int. Victoria line from Euston to Highbury & Islington, just 2 stops, then changed trains to Hackney Wick, it was just a few minutes on this train.
The stadium is a 15 minute walk from there, its the quieter side of the ground with 2 or 3 drinking options on the way.

Also for anyone travelling via Highbury & Islington, if you come out of the station there is a pub right outside, forgot the name, and literally around the corner there is a Wetherspoons pub which was rammed last season with Clarets before our game at Arsenal.
Then back into the station for overground train to Hackey Wick.

Last season using this route after the game we were back at Euston for 5.30pm.

.
Is that Islington station you're talking about with a Wetherspoons round the corner? Any idea of the name of the 'Spoons? Need something better than the Drayton Arms for the Arsenal game!

I concur with the difficulties in making the return journey to Stratford station - it can make a visit to this ground unpleasant indeed. Slight improvement last time, the first time though (on the Wednesday evening) the trip back to Stratford involved some 'ammers having running battles with the police, as they attempted to destroy the barriers preventing them using the direct route via the Westfield.
It was an absolute shambles.

The spoons is the White Swan.

The pub right next to the station is the Famous Cock.

That would be named after Harry Redknapp at a guess!
