Potential plans for a UTC Dinner - your thoughts and ideas please
It's a long time since we held a dinner (2011 to be exact) but I'm looking at potentially organising a dinner this season on the Saturday evening on a home game weekend.
Thoughts are to split any money raised three ways:
Up the Clarets Youth Foundation
Bradley Lowery Foundation
MND Association.
I'd like to know just how much interest there is and would also like some ideas (apart from the food) what you would like to see included in the evening. It would be at Turf Moor and the cost would be approximately £30 per head.

As somebody who has organised and seen sportsman's dinners fizzle out.
I would suggest scrapping the 3 course meal to keep costs down and have pie and peas.
Put the available funds into speakers or comedian. Somebody like Glenn Little would be superb having listened to a few of his stories on podcasts.

I'm in with Mrs Siddo. I like the idea of the dinner as I have a pie on every game.
Entertainment wise, Basil 6435789 could do a sixties and 70s retro disco with 60s club soul and a bit of northern soul thrown in? (Err, I haven't actually mentioned it to Basil.....)

I'd be interested but would prefer a 3 course meal. I would be more interested if you could get a former player which I think you did previously and preferably one from the 60s or 70s teams. Think they have great stories and need appreciating whilst they are still around.

Need some speakers. Obviously all topics will be Brexit-related, Burnley Football Club is a side issue.

The original CM dinners were popular and there was plenty of interest. The same type of format - with a guest speaker - would no doubt work well.ClaretTony wrote:It's a long time since we held a dinner (2011 to be exact) but I'm looking at potentially organising a dinner this season on the Saturday evening on a home game weekend.

I agree that Tony Livesey would make an excellent guest speaker. Would be a good event.

Always interested Tony, come on you noisy buggers, where are you lurking?
Maybe the sitting down for a formal nosh doesn't suit everyone so a Pie and Pea supper would be just as appealing.

It will need to be before March, otherwise Lancaster and co will have either starved to death due to the food shortage or died of some nasty disease when the NHS run out of medicine post Brexit........
