Corfu
Sat on a sunbed in Corfu, contemplating lunch. 26 degrees. Very sunny.
Yesterday, I had the good fortune to stumble across another Claret, with his family.
Our conversation:
Me. Always good to see another Claret. Are you, like me, taking a holiday in the international break?
Other Claret well we can't afford to miss any matches, can we!
Life is simple.
Off for a beer.

good on you ... I booked our Rhine cruise originally during September International break ... but due to a ship change and re-scheduling it was put back a week ... only missed Wolves away game (phew)...
Flying out to Dubai for gulf cruise end of January missing Soton at home (bah humbug)
Then Holland for a week at the end of April for the wifes Birthday ... Missing City at home ah well as you've got to keep the Mrs happy .
All these holidays booked before the fixture list came out..... only missing 2 games out of 4 weeks holidays booked ... and a very happy wife RESULT got a mate who uses my ST when I can't so keeps him happy too.

Update...
Went to Albania yesterday, for the day. Nice day but no more Clarets.
Today, back at the hotel...Another Claret.
Saw him tonight and asked if he was the father of the other lad. No. So there are 3 Clarets here in the hotel and as he said to me...No ManU fans! He also booked in the Int. Break!
Up the Clarets.

Re: Corfu
I've got six years to go to retirement, and my plan is to spend 6 months out and 6 months in. The "outs" will be in airbnb in wonderful places, funded by letting my own as a local airbnb destination. I KNOW this will work as I already have one airbnb locally that never drops below 80% occupancy, and my primary residence will rent for double. SO self-funded travel.......

I live in a place that would probably be desirable from a holiday rental point of view.
Might look into the Airbnb a bit more
Like you, NRC, I've also got 6 yrs to go.
