YOUR team v Man City
YOUR team v Man City
Tough game and we need a strong central midfield.
A narrow 4-3-2-1 for the first time this season.

Re: YOUR team v Man City
I think Vokes is currently one of the first names on the teamsheet, especially away to Man City, where set pieces is realistically going to be our only chance of goals. And we need to pack the midfield with 5 across, which means possibly leaving Vydra on the bench. Not sure what Defour's mindset will be - is it best he starts on the bench or begins the game to help take his mind off things? I think I'd give him 30 minutes and bring him on in the second half.
Hart
Lowton Tarks Mee Taylor
JBG Westwood Cork Hendrick Lennon
Vokes
We then have the likes of Vydra and Defour to maybe come on in the second half. A 1 or 2-0 defeat would be very respectful, so all men behind the ball when we don't have possession. Who knows, we may nick a goal from a set-piece.

Agree with this, except that I’d choose Gibson (if fit) over Mee.Mala591 wrote:Tough game and we need a strong central midfield.

Hart has been our best player this season, Woodleyclaret.

Re: YOUR team v Man City
Tricky one for Dyche this is.
It seems that the only way any team is likely to get a result
against City is if they go on the offensive. And obviously still have to defend well.
I don't think we've got the strength up front to worry City that much.
But starting with just Vokes up front might not be that productive apart from
humping the ball up to him and hoping someone can pick up the scraps.
So for me:
Hart
Lowton Tarks Mee Taylor
JBG Westwood Cork Hendrick
Vydra or Barnes, Vokes
Defour to come in with 30 mins to go might be an option.
Don't think he'll start with Defour unless he's very brave.

I agree with OP and his team. If Defour isn't physically ready, then I would still go three in midfield with Westwood, Cork and Hendrick.

Re: YOUR team v Man City
We've no chance against City unless we pack the midfield. And if we keep attacking they'll attack us much quicker than our players can get back. Keep it tight in the first half. If it's 0-0 after 45 minutes, that will be superb. Then in the second half, when they've run out of ideas, nick a goal from a set-piece. A massive ask though as they're arguably the best team in the world.

Hart
Lowts Mee Tarky Taylor
JbG Defour Cork Lennon
Vokes/Barnes Vydra
It won’t be that team but I seriously hope he can find a place for Defour and Vydra . When it’s written down our forward line and defence really does stink the premier league out ( much as it pains me to say it)
Id actually expect him to start Westwood instead of Defour though and a lone striker , try somehow to keep it 0-0 1st half and take out chances with Defour /Vyd /Barnes to shake it up
We could nick something

Team bus a double decker for this match and park it as close as possible to our goal.

No, he's made 2 and more often 3 subs each PL game this season.Woodleyclaret wrote:Re 7 subs Sean has enough problems getting one on the pitch

Re: YOUR team v Man City
Can't see our midfielders getting a kick and we'll probably need to defend quite a bit so I'd surprise Citeh with a revolutionary 7-0-3 formation with Lowton and Taylor given license to bomb forward to the edge of our penalty area if the opportunity arises:-
Hart
Lowton Bardsley Long Tarks Mee Ward Taylor
Wood Vokes Barnes
