Malcontentment in the squad?
Malcontentment in the squad?
Are we seeing the side effects of not having a happy camp at the moment?
In Dyches whole tenure the full squad has seemed united, there has been very little to no discontent and seemingly that unity has taken us this far.
The last few months have seemed to be the first time that things didn't look so rosy, Walters, Heaton and now Hendrick have all seemingly voiced discontent. Even if the later are more "we want to play" aside from anything else: It's just not how we have normally gone about our business and in Dyche time here most things are dealt with behind the scenes. Even Dyche himself could be shown as to be voicing some discontent over the transfer window. The question is:
A: Do you think this has impacted us?
B: How do you counter it?
C: Is there any discontent? Is it natural for these challenges?

Re: Malcontentment in the squad?
Maybe, to me this season there's something that just doesn't seem right. For the first time ever under Dyche you could accuse us of rolling over in certain games, the Wolves game in particular springs to mind.

Re: Malcontentment in the squad?
We had a disturbing start to the season with the EL chaos, we've had a number of significant injuries and we're in a tough league - and that is about it.
Re: Malcontentment in the squad?
This season feels like a new era at the club.
We’ve seen Arsenals invincibles get brokern up (Viera, Henry etc)
Utds side brokern since Fergie left (Giggs, Rooney, Ferdinand etc)
Chelseas old guard (Drogba, Terry, Cech, Lampard)
Theres not many left from the first promotion season now. It’s a totally different club to when Arfield, Marney, Heaton, Mee all arrived

Re: Malcontentment in the squad?
Of course there's discontent in the squad.
Heaton's sulking because we bought Hart.
The rest of the squad are sulking on Heaton's behalf.
Tarks and Mee hate each other.
Mee hates Dyche because he didn't play in the Europa League.
So does Lowton.
Ward's legs have gone.
Defour will never play again.
Vokes is sulking because we touted him to every club in the country over the summer.
Have I missed any?

Everyone is a touchy bunch on here at the moment.
I haven't stated my opinion on the matter, I've asked some questions to spark debate, it's sort of the purpose that these internet forum thingys were created for.
Some people will think differently to others, are we not allowed to discuss it now?

Re: Malcontentment in the squad?
The problem of having a larger squad. They can’t all play so cliques form.
I have know idea if there is any truth behind the rumours but didn’t Scotty make remarks on leaving?
SD will sort it.

Depends on which specs you're wearing.
Dyche out - see everything in a negative light.
Dyche in - everything positive.
Normal - don't fret about it that much

Kevin Long just signed another extension but said he was unhappy if he wasn't playing
Of course players not in the playing group are not going to be happy! But it doesn't mean any more than that.

Indeed. I'd be a lot more concerned if we had any players who didn't care whether they were in the team or not... and even more so, any that said they were glad they weren't playing!SussexDon1inIreland wrote:Kevin Long just signed another extension but said he was unhappy if he wasn't playing

Re: Malcontentment in the squad?
I’m
Pretty sure it was that KRBFC that came out with the Scotty “ rumours” or similar ? Though he’s a tool of the highest order and about as much chance he’s privy to the inner circle as Mr.T has of being the next PM.
Scotty did make some remark after moving to Rangers about how tough the pre season was or words to that effect . Most “ player leavings” have a slight gripe factor and it was nowt more
I think the squad is fine we’re just a bit crap without our best players in a hellishly strong league which has again stepped up quality

No, he can't have done. Ben Mee gave am everything to qualify for Europe then Dyche didn't pick him so now he's not trying. Only Dyche hasn't noticed this so is still making him captain.gawthorpe_view wrote:Ben Mee played in the Europa League.

Re: Malcontentment in the squad?
You wouldn't want players to be happy not playing.
It has to be hard for Heats, but that doesn't make him a malcontent or trouble maker.
Under Dyche we've had a fairly settled first XI. That changed this season due to Europe, so everyone got a bite, it's easier to sit it out when results are going your way, but difficult to follow when the team is performing so poorly. I feel for Hendrick most of all, at least Heats can see why Hart has kept his spot, Jeff must be scratching his head. That said , I've never heard of him moaning about his lot.

Re: Malcontentment in the squad?
Just my opinion but I do think something isn’t quite right. I’ve always thought under Dyche that even when we haven’t played particularly well the players always seemed to be in it together. For whatever reason so far this season it’s doesnt look as close knit a group as usual.
