We've no chance with Tripper in goal.

Ah you've changed it. Looks like a very weak, inexperienced team to me: I would expect to get beat quite easily.

Rashford and Kane fast? Not certain about that Frank. And Sterling? Reminds me of Lennon for Burnley, flatters to deceive and doesn't do a lot. I hope I'm wrong and we play well and get a result, but I doubt it.

Looking at the bench, I don't know who most of the players are, sign of the times

Do you not think Rashford, Sterling and Lennon are quick? I'm pretty certain they are. The problem is Sterling for England is totally different to the Sterling of Man City. 27 games without a goal I think they've just shown for England?

I don't think Rashford is particularly fast, he has slowed down after he first came on the scene. Sterling and Lennon are both pretty quick but my point is there is no end product from either of them.

Long pass when it's the international team or a big club, hoof ball when it's Burnley.

Some truth in that. If it was Hart to Barnes, out to Lennon, in to Wood, battered in- it would be probably seen as run-of-the-mill "direct" Burnley. With it being Pickford, Kane, Rashford, Sterling - it'll be reported as a top goal. (It was a terrific goal IMO).

If you havent seen it's on the Graun site at https://www.theguardian.com/football/li ... eague-live

England are doing what Burnley need to do against Man City. Sit back, and nick goals from the few chances we get.

From the BBC

What sort of thing is happening here?!

Spain do not like the big long pass over the top from Jordan Pickford. Not a hoof, a long pass into the front three.

Pickford nails one to Harry Kane, who again looks up and plays a gem of a through ball, this time it's Marcus Rashford who burns off the last man, takes a touch, takes his time and slots past David de Gea with borderline nonchalance.

Pickford may well be England's best passer.

Yup am right even the BBC....
When its England its a Long Pass from the keeper ...

Lets do an England to City at the weekend :D

The ball played by Pickford was received well inside England's half.

Where are the moaners? We have only had 28% possession so we can't possibly score three!

Sorry but I’m struggling to compare how we play to how England are playing here. Englands pace is killing Spain here. We are not commonly renowned for playing with pace.

Wow! just checked the score ten minutes ago,a coupon buster i'd say,for the statoos England have only had 28% possession.

Spain are unbeaten in each of their last 38 competitive home games (W34 D4), last losing versus Greece in June 2003 – 5609 days ago.

Be some comeback if they are too maintain that record.

Yeah it sounds more like the Leicester title winning formula, inviting pressure soaking it up and then pouncing on the counter.

It's more about the sitting back and a bit of pressing and keeping things tight. We'll need to do that against City. Some have suggested attacking them, but I don't think that will work due to the speed at which they come forward.

You mean the goal just after we’d spent virtually 35 minutes on the edge of our own box then broke. England have gone at Spain at every opportunity here from the first minute here. We do not play like this

Newcastle are the only team to push City close at the Etihad, their game plan was to frustrate and pinch something on the break, not pretty but it nearly worked, can't see many sides playing an open game against City and prevailing.

Ha ha ha ha anyone suggesting this is how we play is deluded beyond belief.

This is quick, direct counter attacking football with no shortage of skill and flare.

We play inverted wingers and percentages balls all about minimal risk. Pickford would still have hold of the ball if it was us!

We did Bournemouth with a quick ball forward......when we were 3-0 up with about 5 mins to play!

All the pro-Serling fanbois are coming out in force just because he scored a couple of goals. On in the 16th minute and another in the 36th. Mu question is are these idiots thinking about all the other minutes he didn't score? There were 43 of them in the first half but you cherry-pick the two that fits your narrative.

Nobody has. Pipe down.

What was suggested is sitting back and scoring most/every chance available as those chances will be limited. I think we scored 3 goals from 3 chances in the first half. We'll need to sit back and defend deep vs City and score pretty much every chance we get.

Scoring tonight will now give him a clear 20 game run of no goals, always offside, diving, tripping over his own feet...
Generally cocking stuff up.
