Playing the likes of those lads in the top division and yet people hark on about the Orient game like it's the only part of our history.

I take your point , but its more likely to do with being relatively recent as opposed to 60 years ago when this was filmed.

Superb film, Wile.

And birthday boy Colin McDonald in goal.........88 years young today.

Can't believe Mac allowed Winton to take that crucial penalty.

It was Good Friday, we played the following day home to Man City and lost 0-3 and again on Easter Moday losing 0-2 away at Man United.

Three games in four days!!

More recent, but still a generation ago.

Excellent film, a few years later United's teddy boys led by Pancho Pearson came to Turf Moor for an ugly confrontation. John Angus well and truly sorted out Albert Scanlon, Bob Lord was incensed and there was even fighting in Todmorden as Utd fans made their way home.
" Plus ca change" as they say in Tod (the French speaking quarter). :D

Always the case at Easter, though. Can't recall when three fixtures in 4 days stopped (could always check the history books,I suppose). One that always stands out for me was when we won promotion in 1973. We played away on the Saturday at Huddersfield, then at home two days later to Sunderland(won promotion), the following Friday down to Oxford, at home the next day to Brighton and then at home on the Tuesday to Luton. 5 games in 10 days, won them all and didn't concede a goal.
Another odd one was in the late 70's where we played at home on the Saturday in the league, won an FA Cup replay on the Monday at Sunderland, had to play the next game in the FA Cup two nights later at Liverpool and another league game on the Saturday. Didn't fare quite as well that time but still 4 games in 7 days.

They're all in the Bob Lord. It's a closely guarded secret.
