Re: Mark Warburton
Far too opinionated for me and would happily stick the knife in the back of SD. Also wasnt he one of the trio from Rangers who reported Joey Barton to the FA regards betting. Wouldnt want someone like that in the camp

Seem to remember one of the reasons he got the bullet from Brentford was because they wanted someone just to coach leaving recruitment to others
They seem to have done more than ok since he left and he hasn't

Re: Mark Warburton
Not quite - they wanted a totally different approach. He'd been the director of football there but was then given the manager's job when Rosler left. From then on he was just doing the coaching at Brentford, McParland was the recruitment guy.jojomk1 wrote:Seem to remember one of the reasons he got the bullet from Brentford was because they wanted someone just to coach leaving recruitment to others

On a shortlist of 8 according to Nixon.
It's our one chance to get someone in with knowledge of the European markets and we look like bringing in the managers mate.

Why would a fan know the advertised job spec?ClaretTony wrote:You clearly don’t know too much about the work he’s done then or of the advertised job spec
I only know of Warburtons failings at Forest and Rangers, especially the Joey Barton affair.
but here's a bit from his wiki page.
Following an unsuccessful application to become Brentford manager,[5][21] Warburton moved into the role of Sporting director in the summer of 2011, a new position created by an internal restructuring of the club.[21][22] His role included dealing with agents, club finances and contracts, in addition to scouting young players and recommending them to the management.[23] Warburton's links with the academy at Watford saw Brentford sign a number of players with Hornets connections, including loanees Dale Bennett,[24] Adam Thompson,[25] Rob Kiernan,[26] Piero Mingoia,[27] Lee Hodson and permanent transfers Harry Forrester and Jack Bonham.[28][29][30] Warburton stated that the much-maligned Sporting Director/director of football position can work in English football, saying though he "would row every other day" with manager Uwe Rösler, the pair never fell out and Rösler had the final say on team selection and signings.[31]
In December 2012, Warburton held talks with Premier League side West Bromwich Albion about filling the Sporting Director position,[32] but Baggies chairman Jeremy Peace decided to look elsewhere.[33] Warburton oversaw Brentford being awarded Category Two academy status in July 2013 and the opening of a new purpose-built facility on the grounds of Uxbridge High School four months later.[22] In December 2013, Warburton was succeeded in his Sporting Director position by former Liverpool academy chief Frank McParland,[34] whom he had heard of through former Liverpool and current Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers.[31]

As long as it's someone who can broaden Dyche's mind when it comes to transfer targets I don't care if it's his best mate or not.
