Plenty of places.

Moon under water.
Lloyds bar in printworks
That cheap Samuel Smith pub at Shambles but no train so might not be popular this time.
Piccadilly area.

Wearing colours after the game you will struggle to get in most places.

The Spoons in Picadilly won't let you in wearing colours, but the one in the Printworks will.

There is also an EDL demo in Picadilly Gardens on Saturday, so the city is likely to be full of loons.

Door staff on all pubs, plastic glasses, denied entry etc etc.

Crikey, loads of suggestions on here for some of the worst pubs in Manchester. I'll leave you too it.

It's not a thread for the best pub, it's for where Burnley fans generally drink.

Last time I was in Manchester a lot of the nicer pubs seemed to have no football colours at all as a rule.

Taking everything into consideration (I'm thinking safety here as a priority) The Circus https://whatpub.com/pubs/MAS/4135/circu ... manchester" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; and very close The Grey Horse Inn which is a favourite of mine https://whatpub.com/pubs/MAS/4242/grey-horse-manchester" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Both small pubs so get there early if you can.

I didn't say we were but with a EDL demo in the City centre it's easy to be "in the wrong place at the wrong time".

Indeed, people get pretty riled up about their energy bills.

Manchester EDL Demo Details ~

TRAVELLING ~ Nearest train station is Piccadilly Station {Exit the main entrance and turn right, the muster point is 100m down the road}

CARS ~ Piccadilly Basin Car park, 75 Dale Street, Greater Manchester, M1 UK.

MUSTER POINT ~ 11.00am The B Lounge, then at 13.30 we will march to Piccadilly Gardens where we will hold speeches.
Can we please ask that no flags are put up in the pub due to being open to the general public also.

Taken from EDL facebook page.

Maybe best avoid Piccadilly area before the game for disruption purposes.

The Angel on the tip of Ancoats is decent. Probably be fine with colours in their as it's an older demographic who probably don't give one

For a nice leisurely bite and a decent beer try the Mackie mayor. 20-25 minute stroll to the ground as it’s the right side of town.

Bit pricey but there won’t be any idiots in there.

Not bothering but if I was going for a pre match beer I'd either walk up from Victoria / Shude Hill to the Marble Arch on Rochdale Road then taxi to the ground (less than 2 miles) or go to the City Arms and Knott bar and get on the tram at Deansgate to the Etihad. It's a desert around the ground.
