How about Steve Kindon, amazing to watch when he was after the ball bearing down on goal.

Another one for Leighton James but Steve kindon when he started running at defences got the crowd going

Most exciting Robbie Blake closely followed by Little. The best footballer I have seen in my 38 years watching is Steven Defour by some distance. Such a shame for us fans his appearances are constantly interrupted by injury. That said if he was fit enough to perform week in week out would he actually be at Burnley.

In my experience (91 onwards) Little at his best was unstoppable. I heard that from opposition supporters whist walking away from the Valley and St Andrews.

Blake was always exciting in a more elegant way.

Special meantion for Jean Louis Valois who was unstoppable on his day. I think he had one day but what a day

Another vote for Little and Blake, only been watching since the mid-nineties though.

I guess it is all about eras but for those who missed watching Leighton James dance passed 4 defenders as though they weren't there you certainly missed something. Mind you he was a rubbish cricketer - well he did play for Burnley and I'm/was a House supporter.

But for his bad luck with injuries I'm certain it would have been Jon Walters

As a slightly older supporter my vote would go to Ralph Coates. His ability to beat his full back then cross from the by line was second to none. Mention of Steve Kindon reminds me of the description of him in one match report likening him to a "runaway wardrobe". And didn't Taffy also play cricket for Lowerhouse? Or have I got that wrong?

Also watching from the mid 90s and would have to vote for Blake and Little by some distance.

Always enjoyed David Eyres. Remember hearing stories of him being plucked from Sunday league football and making it to professional.

That great goal he scored at Wembley against Stockport...

The swashbuckle of Mike Conroy and (earlier)Billy Hamilton were amazing.
The never say die of Roger Eli.The
precision guided technique of Adrian Heath.
The jinking, sparkle of David Eyres’ left boot.
The mercurial Ted McMinn.
The brute force of Andy Cooke.
The left foot of Paul Cooke that could open a can of beans.
The Home-Grown Goal Machine that was Andy Payton.
The loose-limbed wonder that was Glen Little.
The aerial dominance of Gareth Taylor.
The scintillating brilliance of Robbie Blake.
The tenacity an skill of Wade Elliott.
The derring do of Kieran Trippier.
The cleverness and guile of Danny Ings.

We’ve been fairly spoiled as Burnley fans in the past 20 years.

Robbie Blake, didn't quite look like the modern super athlete footballer but could definitely play.

Also in 13-14, Trippier was probably as exciting as a full back could be, bombing forward and pinging in crosses. Plus that goal against Huddersfield on New Year's Day. Used to like watching Super Johnny Francis as a kid, on the days his first touch was working.

Great shout for Johnny Francis...he definitely got you off your seat when he picked up the ball and ran straight at the heart of the defence - destroyed Plymouth in the play offs and remember him giving Des Walker a really hard game at the Turf.

David Eyres and Ted McMinn were both great wingers - very skilful players who were a joy to watch.

Agree with the shouts on Robbie Blake and Glen Little. Robbie edges it for me between the two.

Pure quality wise for the level we were playing at the time i’d say Danny Ings was my fave player to watch - maybe not as exciting as watching a winger destroy his fullback but I think Danny Ings over that promotion winning season had everything and some of the pieces of skill we saw from him were as good as anything i’d personally seen from a claret

Frank Casper. Perhaps the most skilful player I've ever seen in a Claret shirt.
I'll never forgive or forget Hunter or Revie for what they did to him on that fateful day at Leeds.

Leighton James in his first spell for me.

Quick, both-footed, good dribbler, good crosser with either foot, had a cracking shot and scored goals.

Here he is against England at Wembley when he was just 19.

In recent years it would be Robbie Blake for me and it wouldn't be a close contest with any other player.

But, I've also seen
Jimmy Mac
Ray Pointer
John Connelly
Willie Morgan
Martin Dobson
Ralph Coates
Leighton James
Frank Casper
plus a lot more

I've had my heroes as the years have rolled on,
Fletcher to
Cochrane to
Kindon to
Hamilton to
Conroy to
Little to
Blake to
Elliot to....

But saint Glen Little is probably my favourite. Possibly because he was just such an unlikely looking hero!

Little for me.

But... Has anyone mentioned ANY of our current squad?
An exciting player or 2 does seem to be missing at the moment.
JBG is probably the one I'd say as the most at the moment, but can't say he comes close to a top list.

Enjoy/excite - Ted McMinn, Glen Little, Dave Thomas
Appreciate - Kevin Reeves, Defour, JBG, Trevor Steven, Taff James
Value/results - Danny Ings

If I had the option to bring one back - Danny Ings. Have to go with value/results over excite or the more technical skill.

Terry Cochrane.......”V” shirt.......in addition to his screamer at Barstewards I have a scrapbook with,

“1,2,3,4, muddy marvellous” when TC was instrumental in demolishing Oldham at The Turf on a quagmire of a pitch.......

Ahhh the days...

Most skilful George Oghani.Highly questionable personal life but with the first touch of a Brazilian
Next prior to getting crocked Frank Casper. When Frank got on the ball you knew something great was going to happen. If we are talking wingers lots to pick from Kindon.Taffy.Francis.
Thomas.Cochrane.Little .Wade and JBG all class act

Take your pick from Glen Little and Robbie Blake

And when they were playing together they had a more or less telepathic understanding

Whilst Cochrane and James had wonderful ability, Kindon was just fast and direct. But another vote for Blake and Little overall.

I have just logged in and was about to say that. Not technically the best but on his day was the most exciting. Those who say Robbie Blake are confusing the best player with the most exciting. In the Blake era, Glen Little would have been the most exciting

Don’t think anyone is confused.
When Blake got the ball there was an anticipation that something would happen. He was actually a great dribbler and kept the ball very close to his feet....when he was at Bradford he looked a genuinely quick player. Injuries and filling out a little slowed him down a bit but he still tortured a lot of full backs when he went out wide.
Little was a very good player also and both him and Robbie excited the fans when they got the ball. I just think Robbie had more in his locker than Little with his goals, free kicks and passing ability.

Jimmy Mac
Willie Morgan
Frank Casper
Terry Cochrane. I was never a fan as it often ended up in row Z but everybody else loved him.
Trevor Steven
Glen Little

But my No. 1 has to be Robbie Blake. He could beat a man on a hankie, carry it, pass to perfection and score wonder goals from play and FKs.
