Re: Re: Mancy City versus Mighty Clarets
nice to see the super negative tactics working again. Take nothing away from City but we've offered nothing in an attempt to get a result. I'd rather get beat 6-0 trying to get a result

End of the day it's comes down to the quality, and you have to be realistic they are just far superior, every goal was quality finishing
Re: Re: Mancy City versus Mighty Clarets
No doubt our fans will blame the ref for not sending off Kompany, who is comfortably they’re worst player, who we’ve barely troubled at all.

only positive was Defour, some really nice passes that will do damage against the lesser sides

Had somebody said we were going to lose 5-0 before kickoff, I doubt many of us would have been surprised.
They're a 5-0 better than us.

About as predictable as it gets. Appalling on the ball, not much better off it.
Sure a few on here will find a way to blame Taylor and Chris Wood for the whole thing mind.

This is a billion plus team with wages to match.
I think we have played our part in a decent match. Been some excellent defending, despite scoreline.

Re: Re: Mancy City versus Mighty Clarets
The controversial elements distort the game - Kompany could have been sent off, Sane could have been booked for the dive then sent off for the high tackle, the 2nd goal wouldn't have stood with the ball out of play. All game changing moments.
However, the underlying concern is that over 15 of City's shots were from inside our box. No way would that have happened last season. Bottom of the league or top - all are getting loads of good chances against us. I'm not knowledgeable enough to say why.

Well, that was as expected zero goal threat and framework against a world class side.

Overall, we've been pretty poor since January. And one thing happened then - Defour got injured.CrosspoolClarets wrote:The controversial elements distort the game - Kompany could have been sent off, Sane could have been booked for the dive then sent off for the high tackle, the 2nd goal wouldn't have stood with the ball out of play. I have no issues losing to them when its FAIR but their 2nd GOAL shouldn't have counted and Kompany should have been sent off

Re: Mancy City versus Mighty Clarets
Wtf has happened to Barnes and Wood this season. Awful again.
Really poor last 15 mins there from pretty much all the defence. Like we gave up. Nothing like last season.
Mind you we go 442 against City then try and pass it through a side like City- surely our only option is to be much more direct??

You misread me. I’m not moaning at all I’m saying Moss is a shocker it was a stone wall penalty. The fact we stopped just sums up how we’ve been going about our business so far this season.criminalclaret wrote:Ha and if he had missed the shot we'd have been saying how lucky we were to escape not giving the pen away. But because they scored were moaning he didn't give the pen
The ball didn't go out of play. The ref never blew . We just switched off.....again.

Re: Re: Mancy City versus Mighty Clarets
Not being pessimistic, but we were most certainly always going to be looking at a loss by 2-3 goals.
If we had caught City on an off day and held them to 1-0 until the later stages then maybe a sneek of something.
But no goals means no win and as stated, we just look out of ideas up front and very shaky at the back.
Onwards and upstairs. It's only Chelsea up next

Re: Re: Mancy City versus Mighty Clarets
5-0 and Hart didn't have a bad game....
I know City are a different class, but to not have a single shot on target is depressing. If we got hammerred 5-0, but actually had a go at them it would be a little bit easier to swallow.

Defour back, Vydra didn't play and Brady on his way back. No reason why we can't be like the first half of last season.criminalclaret wrote:Not being pessimistic, but we were most certainly always going to be looking at a loss by 2-3 goals.

Re: Mancy City versus Mighty Clarets
Scoreline aside, I was really happy with some of the passing play today. I think the 2nd goal that shouldn't have stood was the first turning point and then when we were playing our best football at 3 0 Dych decided to change it, presumably to try and get a goal back, this destroyed our tempo and shape and we were all over the place.
All it's and buts, but if the 2nd goal was disallowed for the ball being out, then the 3rd goal doesn't happen. If Dyche would have kept the shape and formation I don't we them getting another 2 but possibly us scoring 1.
All in all I expected us to lose, but was good to see some passages of great passing.

John Stones still has a clanger per game.
He might be one of England's best centre halves at the moment but he'll never ever be as good as the likes of John Terry or Rio Ferdinand.

Re: Re: Mancy City versus Mighty Clarets
For purely defending, possibly. But he's better than both of them with the ball on the ground. They both took an age just to turn around and then all they did was pass it out wide. I'm not Stones' biggest fan but he's a far better all around player than both of them with more vision too.Spijed wrote:John Stones still has a clanger per game.
