Our club size an atmosphere
Our club size an atmosphere
I think it's fair to say were on a par we Cardiff and Huddersfield in terms of size of club so why can they create positive good atmospheres at every home game for 90 mins regardless of the result yet we only sung briefly at 3-0 up against Bournemouth?
Why don't we enjoy games rather than waiting expecting a result

When we were first promoted, the ground rocked.
Now attract folk who just come to watch a prem match and think they have no part to play.
It could cost us dearly.

Probably because watching us play is about as enjoyable as having your teeth pulled without anaesthetic.

Re: Our club size an atmosphere
How do you know these "positive good atmospheres at every home game" last 90 minutes?
Half the time, it might be just as dull as the Turf.

Re: Our club size an atmosphere
Newness of playing at the top level.
The under dog rag, that's all for 1 and 1 for all.
Having a real go at getting a result, with a never say die attitude.
Going into games with an attacking intent to get something.
Theres no surprises at the Turf anymore, no matter what our line up is, or the formation, or the opposition, we will play the same mundane, slow, ponderous goofball, hoping for something to happen, then react when something goes against us.
I'd like once, just once for us to look tactically aware, and do something different to exploit the opponents weaknesses. The game plan ( if there is one ) never seems to change, no matter whether we are home or away or against Cardiff or City.

Yes it’s all the fans fault and nothing to do with a lack of investment, poor tactics from Dyche and players out of form .IanMcL wrote:When we were first promoted, the ground rocked.

I can't see how watching a team such as Huddersfield, who haven't scored in their last six home matches, is entertaining.bumba wrote:Are Cardiff and Huddersfield enjoyable to watch? I dont see it

Huddersfield struggle to sell tickets for away games to top six , they don’t like getting hammered eithertim_noone wrote:It isnt entertaining.... but it appears huddersfield and cardiff fans get behind their teams regardless.

Lack of imaginative songs, and the few decent ones that we do have are sung at 100mph by cocaine addled chavs.

Re: Our club size an atmosphere
England is even worse. 90k on and zero atmosphere. People blame the stadium. But dortmund v bayern at wembley was as good an atmosphere you will see anywhere.
People in this country dont want an atmosphere. Those at the top who just want people to sit there in their hands. And those in the stadium who are too concerned with what people think about them.

Re: Our club size an atmosphere
I'm not sure about that. Lucky you if you got to attend Dortmund versus Bayern at Wembley, as that's the only way you could possibly know just how good the atmosphere was that night, but why would those "at the top" want a bad atmosphere? I just don't get that comment.cricketfieldclarets wrote:England is even worse. 90k on and zero atmosphere. People blame the stadium. As for your final point, the average fan in the CFS doesn't give a rat's ass what people think about him, in my experience, but it doesn't mean he helps create a good atmosphere when he only knows two songs, that he sings at lightning speed, and one of them is about tits and fannies... oh, how hilarious and risque

"Cocaine addled chavs". You make it sound like it's a bad thing.

AND
WITH
Huddersfield fans were right behind their team on 44 minutes and 90 minutes yesterday.
Take a look around Turf Moor next Sunday, after around 35 minutes and 85 minutes as the exodus begins. It isn't a one off either, it happens every single game as people rush to the concourses.
There isn't the will or desire to get behind the team win, lose or draw. It's almost like some people go to punish themself!

The English game has so much to learn from the Bundesliga. Unfortunately we are too ignorant in our own ways!cricketfieldclarets wrote:The atmosphere in england in general is dire. Club amd country.

I think our fan base is older than other clubs and they can’t be arsed taking their teeth out to sing.

Huddersfield had a real go at Liverpool yesterday. Football like that is easy to get behind, compared to our safety first, percentage approach to games.bumba wrote:Are Cardiff and Huddersfield enjoyable to watch? I dont see it

Re: Our club size an atmosphere
Just wait till the two corners are filled in,with the new facilities,it will sound so much better, with the feel of the place, much needed all round, better for everybody,Well Done to the Club.UTC.
Re: Our club size an atmosphere
Our ground isn't built for atmosphere. The open corners the low roof of the Bob Lord dampens noise and despite what many say, fans in the Bob Lord do cheer and sing.
True some lively action from the team on the pitch would help to increase the intensity but it's a very, very tough league and the top six are almost untouchable. Personally I wish they'd leave and go in some super rich league.

Pretty simple answer to this one...... they don’t. No club does.

They want selfie sticks and mobile phones not flag sticks and megaphones!

Impressive indeed, but I still don't get how having a crap atmosphere at the Turf is beneficial for to our owners.cricketfieldclarets wrote:Because they want people to come in. Sit still. Pay their money. eat their overpriced crap food.

The only reason Huddersfield supporters are still excited is that it's fairly new to them.
Remember, we've now been in the Prem for four out of the last five seasons. Even Man City can't even fill their ground on a regular basis.
Also , it seems Crystal Palace fans are like us:
