Police are currently dealing with a partially collapsed building in Burnley. As a result the junctions for Liverpool Rd, Rossendale Rd & Accrington Rd are closed and will be for some time. Access to Rosegrove Train Station for pedestrians and motorists is also not available
Went past there a few hours ago and there was a guy on scaffolding hammering away at the building that has just changed to a plumber merchants.

Thanks for the heads up.

We're off to Sycamore Farm later, I'm guessing we'll be ok approaching from Lower house end?

Not sure to be honest, not sure how far back they have closed it, but at a guess I would assume you would be fine at Sycamore.

Maybe it is just a coincidence, I don't know. Was simply pointing out I saw someone working on a building and then there is a building collapse. Apologies for drawing the conclusion.

Just to confirm the bottom end of Liverpool Road is open as normal up to junction with Gannow Ave so no probs getting to Sycamore Farm.

Does anyone know if the junction is open to vehicles yet ? I usually use it around 6.30 most Monday to Friday's.

Is it just liverpool road closed? Or is it accy road as well? In particular can cars get from rossendale road to bentley wood?

Somebody on the Lancashire telegraph video said it was a listed building. I can"t see it myself, nor did it appear on the list of 190 listed buildings on Wikipedia

When I went past earlier it looked like it was the bit where the bridge was that was closed. You could go from Rossendale Rd to Accrington Rd or vice versa but not onto Liverpool Road.

I heard that comment on the vid. I didn't realise listed buildings weren't allowed to fall down!

I think the point might be that they are not listed buildings once they have fallen down.

I passed these "workmen" a few times during the week and they looked clueless. An HSE prosecution is a cert.

Didn't sound like architects having an educated discussion about the finer points of listed buildings to me but hey ho.

Someone at the bus stop this morning was saying that they'd taken out the supporting wall with the intention of making a drive-through area. Looks like the supports didn't hold.

As a point of pedantry. The building that has collapsed is on the corner of Accrington Rd and Rosegrove Lane. It even has a street sign with Rosegrove Lane written on it. Liverpool Road doesn’t actually start until where the Swimsafe/Halstead Centre is.

:D As a point of pedantry.

Are expressions like that allowed on a football forum? Surely everything on here is only opinions, facts are not allowed except from Frank. :D :D

Not the best of pictures, but the street sign can be seen below the word “Bathroom’.

Exactly what I heard from someone local in the trade and apparently the guy doing the job had undercut everyone by thousands and was obviously a complete cowboy
