New series of TOP GEAR...
Paddy McGuinness and Andrew Flintoff to join Chris Harris as the new presenter lineup. Good choice?

Re: New series of TOP GEAR...
I’ve never surfed my Sky Guide and and thought to myself “oh, Freddy Flintoff is in it, I’ll watch that”
As for McGuinness, I don’t mind when he cameos in stuff but I can’t do with that dating show he does. People who enjoy that show tend to be morons.
Top Gear lost it way long before the original presenters left, but the revamped version lacks any authority, expertise and you can tell the tell the presenters have little input into the writing and creative process. Someone like that Guy Martin should be involved, because you know he genuinely loves cars and engineering.
The setup should be - a host who will write and present (doesn’t need too much car knowledge) but can hold the celebrity interviews.
Two experts with character and charisma who will carry the show.
... a bit like Bake Off. You have Sandy Toskvic (whatever she’s called) and Noel Fielding as hosts - both know rock all about baking, supported by two judges.

It sure what he’s be like as a presenter, but Guy Martin is an excellent shout.

Re: New series of TOP GEAR...
Flintoff is a Burnley hating ****. WTF does he know about cars? And Paddy "whoa whoa whoa" McGuinness can **** off as well.
As mentioned, someone with a genuine knowledge and infectious enthusiasm like Guy Martin, someone who knows how to drive properly - the German girl who raced JC round the Nürburgring in a transit, and a decent presenter with excellent people skills, and a sense of humour... Liza Tarbuck - I have a bit of a thing for her.
Not that any of it matters to me, I don't watch it.

1 & 2 on the Prick List. Definitely will not be watching. They've managed to go from Clarkson, Hammond and May, who were clearly a very popular team... to these two d**kheads.

I must admit Flintoff was the one I questioned. Personally, I would have welcomed Sabine Schmitz or Jodie Kidd.

Wasn't Sabine on the last series? I must admit, I've not watched much of it since it went downhill.

Going to be a long show given amount of time Flintoff needs to talk about himself.

I reckon Paddy McGuiness has been told it's a new series of Car Share. He probably thinks he can get back onto Peter Kay's coat tails.

I was a fan of Flintoff as a cricketer but ever since he as joined the showbiz set I cannot be doing with him just an arrogant tosser. File alongside Darren Gough

If it comes down to a toss-up (pun not intended) between Fatty Flintoff and Patrick McGuinness or those two I know who my vote would go to....

Re: New series of TOP GEAR...
i detested top gear from day one, but when I saw these names as presenters it just compounded it, the tv companies will crowbar these lumpen bores onto anything if they can because there is an audience for s****
Re: New series of TOP GEAR...
Andrew Flintoff has no design qualification. These blokes are pillocks in the pay of the car industry and a poor industry at that. Don't watch.

Re: New series of TOP GEAR...
Whatever happened to Jenson Button, he was nailed on as a new presenter when Chris Evans ran the show.
I would have
Gut Martin
Chris Harris
Jenson Button
Steve Coogan / Rowan Atkinson
Sabine Smitz

Paddy Mcg does what he does and seems to have done very well for himself . He’s no stand up but does his schtik ably enough . Not sure which one Chris Harris is ? Is he the laddish one or the “ blacker “ Garth crooks -esque tool one whose not as good on camera ?

Jodie Kidd used to present The Classic Car Show on Channel 5. She was awful. So wooden and robotic.LoveCurryPies wrote:I must admit Flintoff was the one I questioned. Personally, I would have welcomed Sabine Schmitz or Jodie Kidd.

Re: New series of TOP GEAR...
Shocking idea..who dreams this stuff up.
I have always found Flintoff underwhelming..he certainly had a less glittering cricket career than he should have had, with that talent [especially with the bat] though he made a big name for himself...too busy getting pisssed and messing about..
- I was outside a pub called 'The Crown' [later on 'Crocker's Folly'] in St John's Wood roughly 20 years ago, probably after Lancashire had played a one-day final at Lords, which was about half a mile away...dozens of people drinking outside the pub. The Lancashire coach arrives and pulls up, players get off - Flintoff shouts out top of his voice..'hey ******** get the fu^^^ng beers in..' Not necessary really.
''Flintoff, Savage and the Ping Pong Guy'...rubbish programme title, and not great listening either.
I won't be watching this new programme once..[it should be canned anyway imo].

Re: New series of TOP GEAR...
I thought Paddy McGuiness was an ex-IRA terrorist. The thought that he could blow up some cars if they didn't pass muster or were painted in Rangers colours sounded a good one.
Freddie Flintoff? Is he trying to reach that stage where everyone is sick of the sight of him?

Top Gear has had its day let it go to the scrap used in the sky. It was getting stale with Clarkson and co IMHO.

Chris Harris is the “laddish” one as you’ve identified him as but is actually the only one that knows what he’s talking aboutAlargeClaret wrote:Paddy Mcg does what he does and seems to have done very well for himself .
