Dean Marney started for Fleetwood but subbed after 42 mins. Injured apparently, let's hope not serious.

I suspect it'll end it a bit like PNE and Alex Neil. Playing with confidence but eventually running out of steam.Vegas Claret wrote:Rovers up to 4th, someone needs to sack Mowbray !
Last season there was another team that was 4th at one point but ended up finishing 7th!

Re: Tonight's Footy
At Championship level they are both decent strikers, confidence also plays a huge part, once strikers nab a few suddenly they will make the runs try shots and their general all-round game improves.SGr wrote:Jutkiewicz and Wells scoring. Good night for the 0 goals boys.

Re: Tonight's Footy
In his last 3 seasons for Huddersfield he managed double figures, not prolific certainly but hardly a mug,he averages nearly 1 in 3 at that level.joey13 wrote:Wells decent at championship level , seriously? Stats suggest differently
But what this doesn't take into account is his assists and build-up play, can't be a coincidence QPR are now picking up results since his arrival.
BTW this doesn't mean i think he was a good signing for a Prem team,it didn't work out for him here, but if he shows form for QPR it's possible another club at that level will pay a nominal fee,any return is better than none.
Re: Tonight's Footy
Bradford are bottom after tonight. It was their 9th defeat in 11. Not looking good.
Re: Tonight's Footy
I saw Jamie Cureton play last night for Bishop's Stortford (in the Bostik Premier League, level 7).
He's 43 but still got pace and sharpness. Unfortunately he needs feeding and he didn't get much of that.

Re: Tonight's Footy
local press re Wells last night:
'...Replacing Hemed for the final 25 minutes, Wells worked hard and buried the single chance that fell his way, running onto Eze’s pass and dispatching a low finish beyond Dawson to make it 3-0...'

I can see Derby nicking automatic this season. 2-0 up against WBA and after a poor start to the season are playing some of the best football in the division.

We haven’t had a penalty in the league for over 50 games and you should see the one that’s just been given to Liverpool. Unbelievable

Re: Tonight's Footy
4-1 away to a top 6 team- a great result for The Rams but they're well capable of falling to bits on the run in. Bet their travelling fans enjoyed tonight though.
Forest 3-0 up away at Horwich as well- another worthwhile trip for away fans.
Ipswich beaten again and looking a bit sick. I wonder is they regret getting rid of Mick McCarthy yet? Their fans seemed to be on his back for "only" managing to get them mid table mediocrity whilst under a lot of financial constraints.

Re: Tonight's Footy
I have a relative who lives in Ipswich. Speaking to him over the Summer he said that most of his old group of ST holders don't go regularly now and there is just a general malaise about the place. Reckons they aren't going to challenge for promotion any time soon and that getting relegated and battling for promotion in League 2 is probably the only way things will liven up down there.
