The Complete Clarets Collection 1882 - 2018
Last night was the official launch of the new book by Ray Simpson and Wallace Chadwick at Turf Moor.
I can highly recommend the book,it gives a bio of every footballer who has ever played for Burnley and all our Managers.

Went last night with my mum and dad. the book was a present for my dad's 70th and he was made up, especially having the chance to chat to Colin McDonald. He was especially chuffed that his name is in the book as one of the sponsors. I was just as chuffed that you can now buy Burnley FC Top Trumps so I bought a pack and it's kept my children occupied today. I will test them later on number of appearances.

Just sent a copy to an old friend in Italy, as a thank you for a couple of favours over the years ......
Wrapped in a brown bubble wrap envelope, and taped up, it weighed in at 2.166kg ( 4lb 12 Ounces ) .... a weighty Tome indeed !!

£32 available exclusively in the store ....if the launch was anything to go by, the more mature fan is the target market ...piston broke wrote:Is it in the Store and how much, please?
I'm 54 and I lowered the average age in the room, only other place that happens these days is the Marks & Spencer Food Hall !!

Does it have any season by season details or is it purely about players?

Every player and manager listed A - Z with bio's, stats, life histories etc .... " Clarets Chronicles ", published by the Club in November 2007, did season by season, playing records by Club, etc, as did " Burnley - A Complete History " ( 1990 - Breedon Books ) ....Claretforever wrote:Does it have any season by season details or is it purely about players?
The good news is that 2 years after the 1990 publication, we won the 4th Division title ( joining Wolves as the ( then ) only two Clubs to do so ), 2 years after the 2007 Book, we won at Wembley to rejoin the top tier of English Football after 33 years , so roll on 2020, I say !!

We definitely need an update of the Clarets Chronicles.Clarets4me wrote:Every player and manager listed A - Z with bio's, stats, life histories etc .... Re: The Complete Clarets Collection 1882 - 2018
Something like that is a major undertaking, I'm sure ! Perhaps a slimmer " Accompanying " volume, with details of the seasons/players up to date and also records against other Clubs, which the " statto " in me found rather interesting .....Claretforever wrote:We definitely need an update of the Clarets Chronicles.
Barnet, Chester City, Exeter, Hartlepool, Macclesfield, Torquay, Mansfield, Tranmere, Newport & Wycombe have never won in the League at Turf Moor ( together with Darwen, Loughborough, Maidstone and New Brighton ) ....Bournemouth hadn't as at Nov 2007, but have since )
Burnley have never won a League game at Barnet, Darlington, Hartlepool, Macclesfield, Wigan or Wycombe ....
Unless, of course, you know different !!

Incredible isn't it? I've been in the shop in town and they've not got any in there, yet it is an official BFC publication.Codger wrote:Is it also available in the Online Clarets Store? I cannot see it listed.

With the weight, given earlier in the thread, the postage might be prohibitive.Codger wrote:Is it also available in the Online Clarets Store? I cannot see it listed.

Yes I agree it would be good to have a Companion to this excellent book by Updating the work done in the Complete record of 1882-1991 by Edward Lee and Ray Simpson with the results of matches season to season and accounts of the notable games over the seasons.Clarets4me wrote:Something like that is a major undertaking, I'm sure !
