Your team v Chelsea

Post by Mala591 » Sat Oct 27, 2018 1:12 pm

.................Hart
Lowton Long Tarks Mee
JBG Defour Cork Brady
........Barnes....Vydra

Is Brady ready? Can Barnes find his best form? Is Mee a better left back than Taylor? Is 4-4-2 just too much of a risk against an in-form Chelsea team?

The choice is yours...

I think I'd start Brady on the bench and gradually bring him in.

I'd start Vokes - remember what he did to them last season.

I’d pick
Hart
Lowts Tarks Mee Taylor
JBG Cork Defour Brady (or McNeil or Hendrick)
Vydra
Vokes

SD will pick :

Hart
Lowts Tarks Mee Taylor
JBG Cork Defour Lennon
Hendrick
Vokes

To be fair I thought Jeff played well last week and has had a good season so happy to see him playing but preferably not as a no 10.

Same as against City I'd imagine. Not a chance Brady will be thrown in from the start.

Did Brady come off the bench to score against Chelsea on his debut?

Maybe he'll repeat it on his comeback.

Big question here for me is, is tarks a better left sided cd then mee, although I do believe long is a better pick than tarks"atm" not to say tarks isn't a good footballer but he's been found out somewhat, also too soon to play both defour and Brady together although we need someone to create, vydra would be better used in a 4312 imo but chelski is not the time, this is another we have to take on the chin unfortunately but important players have to step up, and soon, also imo we miss Heaton's captaincy and vocal imo, again not to say Hart hasn't done well but he's had to do, not had much protection from he's defence, but I do criticise him not coming off he's line at times, and also is found wanting in the air despite he's height. Doesn’t really matter tmrw team wise imo but we need to find some consistency and results from somewhere.

I know Wood is out of form, but I honestly believe he is a better target man/striker. He has more pace, mobility and, I believe he is a better chance taker than Vokes. With better service (Defour, Brady) he will be the better of the two.

The big question for me would be, why the hell would anybody put Mee at left back?
He was spun inside and out by Championship wide players, and it was a sigh of relief when he eventually moved central.

Opinions I suppose but I truly don't believe he's ever really been in form apart from he's first 6/10 games, just not passionate enough for me, but vokes is proven over time, yes we need better but that would cost something like 25m as we all know.

It's not going to happen due to injuries but would love to see us just go at em.
Hart
Tarkowski, Mee, Gibson
JBG, Lowton, Defour, Lennon, Brady
Wood, Vyagra

Seriously though, I'd go;
Hart
Lowton, Tarkowski, Mee, Taylor
JBG, Cork, Defour, Lennon
Vokes, Vyagra

I do smile when people suggest playing 3 at the back. Thankfully, I'm pretty sure we won't be doing that this season.

Time for a change ( 3-5-1-1)

Hart
Long or Gibson, Tarks Mee
JBG Cork Defour Hendrick Brady
Vydra
Vokes

Lowton Taylor Wood Lennon and Barnes are all hopelessly out of form so leave em out.

Team will be
Hart
Lowton Tarks Mee Taylor
JBG Cork Defour Lennon
Hendrick
Vokes

Do you mean something like;

Heaton, Hart, Pope
Lowton, Tarkowski, Mee, Taylor
JBG, Cork, Defour, Lennon

Simply hoof it up the pitch and wait for them to try again!

We'll be a bit too rigid with Vyagra in the team.

----------Hart
Lowton Tarks New Taylor
JBG Cork Defour Hendrick
------------Vydra
------------Vokes

No easy fix against Chelsea, but Vydra can do two jobs here- firstly hustle Jorginho (Chelsea's metronome) at the base of Chelsea's midfield, and secondly peel into the channel behind Alonso, who is a wing back rather than a full back to give us an option to get in behind Chelsea - it's important we give ourselves a means of attacking Chelsea. If we play 451 against a team like this there's a danger we end up with Vokes really isolated.

Hendrick can do that job on the left, and his athleticism means he can help cover Detours legs in the middle so we crowd the centre, and also do the job of protecting Taylor. If this set up leaves anyone spare it's Azpilacueta, but that's probably the least worst option (fine player that he is).

Huge ask to chuck Brady in for this one.

I do fear they will target Taylor as defensively he looks a suspect link, particularly against the better sides, but putting Mee there would be a retrograde step and actually worse imo. He's been there before and was never that great. He's a CB or not playing for me tbh.

Heaton
Lowts, Tarks, Mee, Taylor or Tea lady both would be seen as the weak link
JBG, Cork, Defour, Brady
Barnes, Vydra

Hopefully we might play it on the floor with Vydra making the runs no one else does and I just think Barnes is the better forward at laying the ball off and bringing other players into play

Vokes starts for me and he scores the penalty winner in the second half 0-1 to the Clarets.

I hear that Brady starts. I’m surprised at that, much more Dyche to have him on the bench initially. Maybe says more about Lennon than anything else

Be interesting to see if he does. Dyche not one for taking such risks which is understandable. One or two suggesting Defour wouldn't have been ready for City. I'd start Brady.
