Why did he blow up during the game to allow Pedro to walk off, no sub, no injury

Re: RATE THE REF - Craig Pawson v Chelsea
Weak, weak, weak, weak, weak, weak.
Morata should have been sent off after his booking, for deliberate handball but he didnt even speak to him.
Not helped by the most inept linesman ever on the bob Lord side.
Alonso tries to flying headbutt Gudmundsson and he flags for a foul against Gudmundsson, who then gets booked. Absolutely disgraceful.

Morata should have gone - no doubt - the JBG incident is all down to the assistant

And when Luiz was fouled whilst sat on the ground he threw the ball at one of our players feet, that was a yellow and Pawson just ignored it.

The Lino on the Bob Lord. Jesus wept. The most inept performance I’ve seen in a long long time. Missed about 5 offsides in the first half. Think he had a bet on Morata first goal scorer

Re: RATE THE REF - Craig Pawson v Chelsea
Thought the referee was good in the first half but lost control of the game in the second. Morata should have seen a second yellow for picking up the ball whilst also preventing a counter attack. Stopping play to allow Pedro to leave the field was bizarre, unless there was a valid reason.
The problem with the big sides is that if the referee’s start to give them an inch, they will take a yard.

Awful. Thought he was going to rub their goalkeepers leg better late in the second half.
Chelsea had Pawson in their pocket all game. He even blew for kick off about 10 seconds into the minute silence.
Why stop the game for having 2 balls on the pitch for 1/100th of a second too?

Totally lost the plot for a while in the second half. The liner on the Bob Lord side gave absolutely nothing in the first half and in the second couldn't wait to get involved in everything. He didn't help the referee at all. PaedoMorg allowed Chelsea to referee much of the game.

Some big marks on here for authority
I thought he had no authority of any sort
Certainly less than Chelsea who decided for themselves when they were going to stop the game and make substitutions
Weak refereeing of the highest order and some really bizarre decisions
Shocking

I made up my mind when he booked JBG, after Alonso tried to take him out, and headbutted his hand

I saw from my seat clearly that the Lino was completely wrong. No excuses for the ref, being that close. Even worse that he then booked JBG.ClaretTony wrote:Morata should have gone - no doubt - the JBG incident is all down to the assistant

Ben Mee could have been booked, Defour could have been booked. Tarkowski or Lowton not sure who knocked over Morata, could have gone.
I thought he was ok overall.

Stop it Ian. A balanced common sense view is not welcome but at least you didnt mention how JBG flung is elbow in Alonso face which rightly resulted in his bookingIanMcL wrote:Ben Mee could have been booked, Defour could have been booked. That Alonso threw his face into his arm DA!
3rd match
Silly by Gay, (not sure of spelling and no offence meant!), to leave his foot there, so Martial can conjure his ludicrous fall.
Moss...hanging's too good for him.

Re: RATE THE REF - Craig Pawson v Chelsea
No he didnt Alonso went in aggressively for the challenge but JBG swung his elbow out to fend him off. Shielding the ball is one thing but using your elbows to prevent a challenge by the opposition is dangerous and deserving of a foul and a booking

Consistency not a problem. He gave a free kick every time there was "contact" and a player ended up on the floor. That's why Gudmondsson was a clear foul to Chelsea - there was contact and the Chelsea man fell down. That's all it takes nowadays, and it's the reason why Morata thought he had a free kick. He was touched, he fell over - what's he supposed to think? It was surely more likely that the whistle had blown and he hadn't heard it, than that he wouldn't get a free kick.
I thought of giving a few more marks for decision making because of booking Willian, but that was such an obvious dive that even from 100 yards away I never thought the whistle would be to give a penalty.

Think Willian should have gone also for deliberate handball after previously being booked for Simulation. That said, I think Pawson is one of our better officials.

if he was that sick he could of walked of the pitch, nothing stopping him from walking off the pitch.Vegas Claret wrote:he was sick so wanted to get him off asap, I thought it was good refereeing there given the circumstance
he wasn't throwing up and said to the bench 5 minutes before to be subbed, its not for the ref to stop the game because he feels I wikkle bit poorly.
And to top it off he made us kick the ball back to them.

Not true - it is a cautionable offence to enter, re-enter or deliberately leave the field of play without the referee’s permission

Re: RATE THE REF - Craig Pawson v Chelsea
Do you genuinely think the ref would of booked a player for walking of the pitch because he was ill? I know your not supposed to do it but that would never happen.
