Tyrone Marshall , Lancs Telegraph Clarets Reporter

Post by randomclaret2 » Wed Oct 31, 2018 12:28 pm

Has tweeted that he is leaving his current job to become Senior Football correspondent at the Manchester Evening News. Shame, I enjoyed his coverage of the Clarets.

Bearing in mind the way that local press is dying I’d say that Ty is simply doing what’s best for his career....moving to something bigger and with more job security.

I’d be more concerned at what happens next in terms of local football coverage- because I don’t see the Lancashire Telegraph replacing him with a new hire....

Summed him up last week when he wrongly reported the club had been abroad training.... Turns out he just guessed it... After hearing lennon on sky saying he'd been away... The club had to put him right. If that's the standard of his reporting god help the people of Manchester....

He's a good lad and has certainly put the effort in covering the Clarets, rarely he misses any of he u23 games too. Best of luck to him at the MEN.

He was only marginally better than his predecessor Suzanne Geldard and she was a self-confessed Rovers fan. Terrible reporter, all the world and his wife knew what was happening at Burnley before he did and his copying and pasting was legendary.

He was probably good at reporting games, but as for anything else concerning the club he was way behind, but then again the other local reporters are similar in that regard, again it took a Midlands based reporter to report that vokes was to sign a new contract, if the local reporters were any good they would have been all over that. From memory I would say that 90% of our transfers have been reported elsewhere before the locals caught up.

Probably the case, but not sure these days how the locals are expected to know ahead of anyone else. They don't get anything from the club, the info that gets out is almost exclusively from agents.

He was better than the one he replaced, but that's not saying a great deal. Still good luck to him. The LT will put in a Deadwood fan to cover the Clarets I am sure

People really can’t wait to weigh in on the local reporters can they. So many esteemed football writers on here. Good luck Tyrone is what is clearly a step up in your industry.
