Jimmy Dunne
Live on BT1 in the Edinburgh derby.
Haven’t watched it all but the summariser commented how excellent he’d been for a 21yo.
0-0 HT.

Cheers!
Had the Chelski/Derby game on.
This is better.

Real Derby stuff, this.
Kevin Ball would have loved starting this game.

Re: Jimmy Dunne
I watched about sixty minutes. Lennon would be wise to tone it down on the sideline. Dunne looked tidy. Very good in the air. Decent pace. The distribution was probably his weakest aspect. He went long a bit too frequently. Lively game to play in, will be a positive experience for him. Good to see Marvin still playing.

Re: Jimmy Dunne
This is exactly what we need for all of our potential first teamers. He’s had a season at League step level, winning player of the year as well as getting used the the physicality and the crowds.
He’s now moved up to possibly Chanpionship level in general, playing in front our Turf Moor sized crowds at home, and some larger ones away against a better level of player. If we want/have to call on him in the next 12 months then he should certainly be match ready.
Hopefully 3-4 other players can get similar experience.

Re: Jimmy Dunne
That was a proper derby
Not the best footy and chances minimum
But the blood and thunder on the pitch from the players and atmosphere from the fans made for entertaining stuff
And Dunne looked one of the best players out there

Re: Jimmy Dunne
I attended last night as Hearts are my Scottish team, the fans love Jimmy and he has been immense in all games, the fans are desperate to see the loan extended to season long! As for the game more of a cross between Aussie Rules football and wrestling, brutal at times, and the well documented off field activity which put a bit of a dampener on things!

Nice to read comments in a positive manner on one of our players, get him back here and give him a game then he can be hammered as well.

Sadly for Hearts fans I think we need him more than they appreciate. A loan extension would be dependent on Ben Gibson getting back match fit first.
A big well done to the lad, even if it isn't the Prem it shows if you're good enough, you're old enough.

Re: Jimmy Dunne
He's certainly making a name for himself both on and off the pitch. He returns from loans with praise ringing in his ears for both performances on the pitch and attitude off it. Last season it was Barrow and then Accy, who wanted him back, and now it is Hearts.
It's perfect him being out on loan - he's been getting regular football at various levels now since the start of last season.

Re: Jimmy Dunne
Amazing to read comments like that about one of our youth players. Reminds me of what we were saying when we had Gary Cahill.
Hopefully he nails down a spot in our first team in the near future because it's been a while since we've had someone come through and really make their mark.

Re: Jimmy Dunne
could they afford to buy him? And what could they pay him?
It's a pity that he's 5th choice at Burnley, I wonder how many years he'd have to wait for a game for us.

Re: Jimmy Dunne
Leave him where he is this season and bring him into the fold next season. If Tarky continues to get into the England squad I suspect he'll be on his way so Dunne would step up to being one of four.

Re: Jimmy Dunne
He hasn't actually come through from the youth team. We signed him from Manchester United when he was 18.ksrclaret wrote:Amazing to read comments like that about one of our youth players. Reminds me of what we were saying when we had Gary Cahill.
