I'd swap Barnes with Wood.

Lowton's defending in the last 2 weeks has looked extremely suspect to me, so serious case for a change at right back. We need Hendrick's physicality and athleticism in midfield - you can certainly make a case for Westwood to play as well in a 4-5-1, but I'd like to see someone get closer to Vokes. If suggested playing Brady infield if he's fit - he's played that role a lot for Ireland - but it may be a bridge too far if he's not quite fit yet.

The alternative, as last week, might be to play Hendrick on the left side, tucking in to support Westwood and Defour.

For a 'significant' shake up of the first team squad (which is sometimes a necessary thing to do) then 4-4-2

No balls above head height :-)

Heaton
Bardsley Long Tarks Taylor
JBG Defour Westwood McNeil
Brady Vydra

Also agree. A good footballing midfield that. Hendrick can also carry. They should provide service and if you give Wood service he scores.

Don't have a love in at all, but, overall, I think he's been one of our better players this season. If I was picking the team he'd be in ahead of both Westwood and Cork on current form. If you don't get him, you probably haven't noticed how poor Cork has been either.

I agree with you on current form but then again they have all been poor all season but its a shame the manager and the man that counts does not and will shoe him into his new role again tomorrow with exactly the same outcome.

Blind men and stan and all that comes to mind.

Don't agree with you at all. He's played well in both positions this season. Probably no surprise that his best performances come away from home given the abuse he gets on the Turf. Was just the same with Robbie Brady last season.

I agree that Hendrick has probably been the best of the other 3 CMs however I'm not sure him and Defour would work as a two so would have Westwood as think they would work better.

Dont agree further forward as he is not comfortable and not in the game enough and not good enough.

No 10's are to create and score and he has 1 goal which he did his best to miss on the day - cant remember any lovely through balls or assists but that could just be my memory.

If he plays midfield then yeah I would have him in, but if dyche sticks with his No 10 role then he has to be dropped as he is absolutely useless in that role n looks like a rabbit in the headlights & he should be replaced with Vydra tomorrow...

Your view - not mine and not Dyche's either - he's just become a target. And I wouldn't replace him with Vydra because I don't think we should be going with two forwards. We might do, but I wouldn't.

`I don't think we should be going with two forwards` - wouldn`t Vydra be classed as more of an advanced midfielder in a 4-4-1-1?

It's a question of degree (formations are never as rigid on the field as they are on paper) but Vydra definitely plays further up the field than Hendrick, who would regularly drop behind Cork or Defour into the central 2.

On last Sunday's evidence there would seem to be a good case that Defour needs that extra cover in midfield.

Point A ^ concur
Point B ~ the evidence this season is that we just need more `fight` & confidence in possession in midfield...

Barnes

It's a nick a 1-0 from a set piece line up.

I have no problem with Sam but feel he will be wasted up front as we will revert to hoofing it. Wood has looked lost and Lennon offers less than JBG and hopefully Brady.

Vydra will get his chance.

From last weeks team I’d change Long for Mee whose been absolutely shocking all season and continuously picking somebody whose playing so poorly sends out the wrong message to the rest of the squad.
And Vydra for Vokes because Hendrick and Vokes together are far to static.

I notice West Ham will be without their captain Noble today, which is a plus.

For me, this is the sort of game to keep the ball on the ground and have a good linkup play with the likes of Defour, Brady, JBG, Vydra and Wood.
