Time for Dyche to leave
Re: Time for Dyche to leave
And what reason should the club give for sacking the best manager we've had in decades?
Re: Time for Dyche to leave
It would be simply ridiculous for the Board to sack him now or in the near future.

So it's OK to sack a manager after eleven matches then?boatshed bill wrote:The results, perhaps?
If that's the case we can NEVER EVER be critical of other clubs when they sack managers after each season. We then just become a target for mercenaries.
And what if the new manager isn't working out?
Would you be happy getting a new manager each season?

I'm not sacking anyone. You asked what reasons the board might have to sack the manager, and poor results is the most common reason.Spijed wrote:So it's OK to sack a manager after eleven matches then?

But in answer to your newer post, it's not 11 matches, it's 7 wins in 2018.

He’s the 7th highest paid manager in the Prem. Which top championship club can afford to pay him?jurek wrote:Absolutely not but if we do go down then it might be
that he feels he needs to move on. Not sure where.
I think the fans will no doubt have a say in it especially if they do get
on his and the players backs which will no doubt happen if we continue in the same
vein of form as we have done. And it probably won't be that many games down the road.
Another 6 or so games will probably suffice afore things start getting volatile.
I personally think Dyche will be here at the end of the season and probably the season
after even if we do go down. He's taken us back up once so no reason why he can't do it
again will be the thinking.
The only way I see him leaving is if another club comes in for him.
Probably a top Championship club.

Something isn't right at present and I'm very concerned we look nailed on relegation fodder, but the guy who got us where we are is clearly the best person to sort it out and after 6 amazing years he deserves the chance to sort it out, even if we do go down.

Re: Time for Dyche to leave
Decent post. It would be utterly shameful to sack Sean Dyche. Absolutely ridiculous. This thread is embarrassing. Granny WeatherWax joined August 2018....where have you been for the previous superb (nay miraculous) 5 years under Sean Dyche ? Weirdly waiting for a rough patch so you could obtain some kind of weird pleasure from calling for the man to be sacked !! And your suggested replacements are beyond laughable too.thomaspaine wrote:For all you who are starting to panic, perhaps your efforts would be better employed watching Strictly come prancing, Eastenders or some other tosh.Leave supporting the Clarets to the rest of us.Sure its tough at the moment but it was always going to be so.One thing for sure, is that its going to be an exciting season to see if we can get the points to stay up.I think we will and that there will be at least three worse teams. Just remember where we have come from and keep the faith.

Pretty sure we can be relegated and Dyche will remain. The board won’t pull the trigger and besides his contract is too big now.

I saw vultures gathering in the Bob Lord directors box in the name of David Moyes. Moysie will be thinking, I wouldn't mind a crack at this.
Dyches record this year is very poor and we look devoid of any football or idea, I honestly think his shelf life is now past the sell by date.
Dyche looks clueless

As much as Dyche looks clueless at the moment Moyes would not do any better. He would be an awful appointment.

I'm sick of watching the same team, make the same mistakes, with the same results, but Dyche had more than earned the right to turn it around.
I just hope he does it soon.

Problem is he's not building though. After 5 years of Premiership TV money he's still throwing on Ashley Barnes as our first change when we need to create something.JimmyRobbo wrote:I see that we are still above the relegation zone and that's the important thing.

Re: Time for Dyche to leave
As long as he is prepared to stay and deliver again, should we go down, I’d no way consider getting rid of Dyche. He’s earned plenty of credits and although it’s bloody dire at the moment, I can’t think of anyone better.
An Allardyce might bring a short term improvement but longer term, he’d not give a stuff about the clubs finances or long term future.
Dyche has worked minor miracles though he’s certainly not, nor ever should be, beyond question. Similarly it’s time that the board showed a little faith and hopefully the new technical director is a step in the right direction.

Re: Time for Dyche to leave
The strongest argument for sticking with SD and giving him the chance to put things right is that the best other manager we could probably attract is Moyes, Personally, that would give me no confidence he could make the kind of improvement needed to steer us away from danger. Who else - Steve Bruce? No more impressive than Moyes,
Difficult as it is at present, given the depth to which he's ingrained in the club, SD seems like the better bet by some distance.

Re: Time for Dyche to leave
Every team goes through bad patches throughout a season. Didn’t we go 11 without a win last season and still finish 7th? Surely that means, seeing how tight the bottom half of the league is, that we could easily finish 12th-15th this season, all it needs is a run of 2 or 3 wins in a row. I’ll be keeping the faith and I understand that it will most likely get worse with Liverpool, Arsenal and Tottenham all to come within December, however I do believe that this team has the grit and determination to keep us in the premier league
Re: Time for Dyche to leave
managers earn their money during tough times. We haven’t had many of them under Sean and now is the time for him to earn his money but he has to be given chance to do that. For me even if we go down he’d get a chance to bring us back up

The problem is if that if we go down, we go down with a aged squad containing plenty of journeymen who some don't seem up for the fight of fighting for survival in the Premier League, if they are not up for that, I just can't see them being up for the scrap in the Championship. If this was a squad full of potential i'd be more comfortable about our chances in the Championship but it's not and it would require a massive rebuilding effort, would we be able to move players on and would we get players in, is Dyche the right man for that?

Are there any clubs out there that people are envious of?
Take into account the atmosphere, the financial footing, history, excitement, ambition, business model, results....
All things considered, do we wish we were anybody else?

You forgot to mention 1987. You know, that season we very nearly went out of business. It might have been over 30 years ago, and bears absolutely no relevance to today, but we’ll use it as a reference point for all time anyway.IanMcL wrote:Not at all. We are struggling for sure. Re: Time for Dyche to leave
I don’t want him to go. I do want to see some green shoots of recovery soon though. Everything about the team seems very stale.
The problem started with our muddled recruitment in the summer, which has left us selecting the same outfield players as last season and hoping Defour and Brady hit form as soon as they returned.
The risk was always that you were asking a lot for players to recapture the heights of last season, although I don’t think we anticipated that we’d be struggling to even consolidate.
I do think people are kidding themselves if they think this is easily fixed in January though. We aren’t as attractive a proposition as we were in May. The kind of players we might have been able to bring in then may not want to risk playing second tier football next season and the board may not want to risk a large wage bill in the Championship.
