Hillary’s? They used to saturate people with leaflets by post down here.

We were after some window blinds so arranged for someone to call and discuss the options, well we thought that “hard sell “ was dead long ago as people are wised up these days..but not with Hillary’s it wasn’t he never stopped jabering, never listened to us at all so we just got rid of him he also said that he was the installer as well.

We eventually went with Thomas&Sanderson who are very expensive but high quality, the fella from them who came said he once worked at Hillary’s some years ago but not for long as the “hard sell” was company policy.

Also the quality was poor meaning that if you intended to live where you are for long you should be prepared to spend out again in time.

It may be different up there but do bear what I have said above about our experience in mind, good luck .

Good thread for me is this. Currently no curtains or blinds up at my windows while work is being done. I’m certainly going to be looking for blinds for some of the windows.

Blinds 2 go are fantastic value and even better quality if you are capable/can be bothered measuring up and putting them up yourself

Would off previously agreed with this as have been using ikea blinds for years but keep away now they’ve changed and their sh**e. For those mentioning Hillarys in this thread - all the sales people and all the installers are self employed, hence the pushy nature. They will turn up possibly in a Hillarys logoed shirt or similar, but apart from the Management and Office support in Nottingham, they are all sub contractors. From a brief but unpleasant time spent with them, I wouldn't touch them with a barge pole.

I’ve just done 5 windows using the blinds2go web site. They were good quality, decent price and good after sales service

I run my own curtain and blind business, I would avoid Hillarys and Ikea and remember you get what you pay for .

Used midway blinds 01282 707777 - great service, great price and not had a problem in 3 years.

They’re not a “fashionable” firm so you’ll save quite a few quid - no nonsense and just do what you want/need when they agree to do it ..... at VERY reasonable prices.

Think I paid paid about £30 a blind, fitted for vertical ones.

I used Blinds2go. The rollerblinds I got were fair quality. The do fray a slight bit on the edges and if you are not that handy with DIY they may be awkward to fit.

Generally though I'm happy with them.

We've always used a couple of local company's, Manor blinds and A Shade blind. We've just done the kitchen and wanted 2 silver Venetian blinds, one was about 10ft long the other 3ft. They both quoted smilar around £290.00 for both. We decided to take a risk on a company on the web. They provide all the advice in how to measure and have a brilliant range at different prces, anyway we chose some along with the choice of side openings ec, they keep you posted of how the orders going, were made by them and delivered within 10 days. Take a look at 247 Blinds. We were very pleased, excellent quality, the best bit was the price, for both, the total being £87.50.
