With considerable difficulty for this game. A lot of parking restrictions and long delays expected because of the walk.

Parked at Westcotes Bowling Club the time before last. Had no problems, think it was a fiver and comfortable distance to the ground

Re: Parking at Leicester City F.C.
There’s a big car park at Leicester Tigers RUFC, although I’m not sure they open it for football parking?

Near the university but it's a fair trek up a hill.

Me, any my family in particular go regularly. The Aylestone Road ie the A426 on the south side provides parking opportunities in the residential streets either side. Never had a problem. Look for Derek Curtiss cars post code LE2 7QJ as a land mark. Move towards the centre and try the side roads. You are about 15 mins away-as close as you can park. Saturday will be a little different with roads between the ground and city centre closed for the testimonial walk. Get there early

Re: Parking at Leicester City F.C.
Last time season we parked at the Hospital, as did a lot of Leicester fans as we discovered when we got back to the car after the match.
If you decide to do this, drive through the open air car park and enter the multi story at the rear. If you are early enough, park on the lower levels to reduce queuing time. The exit from the multi story then throws you out on to the one way system near to the rugby ground but heading straight out of town.
Parking rates were very favourable compared with NCP and the like and it must be a good earner for the hospital coffers.
I had some reservations when it was suggested to me but it appears the norm on a match day.
Newcastle Hopital is another good option if you are going there.

Re: Parking at Leicester City F.C.
As an almost local, I can say that if you go in on the A47 then as you approach the city centre there is a car park on the left (just before you reach the Holiday Inn). It is about £3 for the day and a 20 minute walk to the ground.
I'm going in on the bus (after a 2 mile walk to the bus stop).
I will be lunching in the Globe pub in the Lanes area of the city centre.

Re: Parking at Leicester City F.C.
Anyone able to share details of the away friendly pubs too?
Re: Parking at Leicester City F.C.
Try the side roads off Queens Road in Clarendon Park, I live in the area. Some decent bars on Queens Road and the Cradock is a large Everards pub with reasonable food. You won’t have any problems. The walk to the ground is 15 minutes max. It’s estimated there will be 15000+ people on the march through the city prior to the game so arrive early. If you park in this area you avoid the city centre and it’s a quick exit towards junction 21 on the M1/M69.

There are no friendly people in Leicester.Mrpotatohead wrote:Anyone able to share details of the away friendly pubs too?
I spent years working down there and they are the most miserable set of human beings ever.
Go into any pub you want and you will be ok and won't get any hassle.
ps - If you go into a butty shop and ask for example a ham teacake you will get it with raisins in it. Beware. Ask for a cob.

Spent 4 years in Leicester at poly / university and your not far off. Asking for a chip muffin in a chip shop, you should have seen the looks! The local bitter tastes funny too.tybfc wrote:There are no friendly people in Leicester.

That newish pub very close to ground is fine for away fans. I/we usually go in there, never had any trouble. It is near industrial estate and car garages. Can sometimes park up there too if you arrive pretty early.
Re: Parking at Leicester City F.C.
Oops sorry I thought this was about tactics tomorrow and whether we should "park the bus" and go for the 0-0.
