Just seen that Sir Ian McKellen has announced a country wide tour with a few shows in Burnley.

Anyone going?

Not seen that he's at the Mechanics and nothing on their website. Burnley Youth theatre is sold out.

According to local TV news earlier this week, Son of Bolton. Always thought he was born in our town.More Manchester bias?

Scott Park rd - there is a plaque on the house to say he lived there - moved to Bolton when he was very young though

On The Graham Norton Show last night, McKellen said he had visited the town to see the Blue Plaque on his birth home but said that he thought they’d put it on the wrong house.

I think he's doing a day time show at Burnley Youth Theatre as a fundraiser, which sold out, and then the Mechanics show in the evening was added in view of the demand !!
