Re: Leicester City versus MIGHTY CLARETS
Leicester 1/2 to score the first goal. I think they are very decent odds, so just put a bet on. Hope I lose.

Surprise surprise Ings off injured
Re: Leicester City versus MIGHTY CLARETS
Slightest pressure and we're passing it back 60 yards

Well, that was as depressing as ever. But we're not losing.

Just keep them out and get Brady and Barnes on last 20 mins to try and nick a win like we used to

Lee Dixon sums it up perfectly for me
A laboured front two with a midfield incapable of linking up with them

Lee Dixon also said we conceded 13 in each of our last 3 games.
Re: Leicester City versus MIGHTY CLARETS
I got pelters at the back end of last season for suggesting that we need to address the poor form before the end of the season because it can affect the next.Funkydrummer wrote:Have we not trained for a few weeks ?

We didn’t, we did nothing to freshen up a successful squad (which needed doing) and we’ve continued to be very, very poor.
I’m afraid we are reaping what we sowed. I just hope that we can address things on the pitch in the short term and have a successful January. If we don’t, we are down!
I was previously convinced that we would stay up by virtue of there being three shitter teams than us. I’m far from sure that there are three worse now

Well the one game in which he started - the Bournemouth game, he did exactly that and we also won 4-0 .... so who knowsDCWat wrote:I’ve not seen enough of him, but I’d hoped that Vydra would be filling the gap between midfield and the striker, also doing some pressing from the front.

If we are smart enough...
Re: Leicester City versus MIGHTY CLARETS
The problem with that argument is that we were poor at the end of the previous season and we didn't address the situation.DCWat wrote:I got pelters at the back end of last season for suggesting that we need to address the poor form before the end of the season because it can affect the next
However, we started like a house on fire next season, beating Chelsea etc.

Re: Leicester City versus MIGHTY CLARETS
Well that was terrible. Midfield is struggling. If the tactics are ti go direct and pick up second balls thrn thats not working either. Hendrick for Cork for me.
Too many of our players cant seem to find a white shirt- we look like Championship fodder at the moment.
DC Wat is spot on about the failure to freshen the squad. Dreadful summer window (as a number of folks said at thr tine and git pelters)

Re: Leicester City versus MIGHTY CLARETS
True - it’s not a guarantee of poor form the following season but I’d argue that the problems that we are seeing this season are a continuation from the end of last.Spijed wrote:The problem with that argument is that we were poor at the end of the previous season and we didn't address the situation.

The problem is, after another terrible display so far, half of the people will still be happy and quote the orient game and a 7th placed finish last year.
We need a change.

Did we freshen the squad at the start of last season?BabylonClaret wrote:Well that was terrible. Midfield is struggling. If the tactics are ti go direct and pick up second balls thrn thats not working either. Hendrick for Cork for me.

Come on Burnley! It`s 1am here and I`m fighting the urge to go to bed. SHow me something in the first 10 minutes to get me to the fridge for another beer. We have got to shore up that midfield though as it`s like a hot knife through butter.

Except we did ... Wood Cork borh regukar first teamers plus Taylor Bardsley Walters and Wells to bolster squad and push competion for places.Spijed wrote:The problem with that argument is that we were poor at the end of the previous season and we didn't address the situation.

People diving is the least of our worries. The insipid and wholly predictable nature of our play is the problem.SussexDon1inIreland wrote:I hope we can stay up but if we can't so be it and we go into the Championship where there are less foreign divers

I've just stuck a 5er on us at 6/1. Call me mad but got a feeling it's gonna be one of those days where we get absolutely battered but somehow steal a win!
