New car and draft Brexit deal
Trying to get my head around what this Theresa May (+cabinet) draft deal is. I think I have figured it out.
Is it like deciding to go to an auto-dealer and part-ex your car for a brand new car. After lengthy hours of negotiation you walk out of the showroom with a car - a banger that is worse than your original part-ex. Not only that, you have also agreed to pay all service charges to upkeep said banger to the auto dealer for now until ever more until they say you can upgrade.
Not being the sharpest pencil in the box on these Brexit negotiations and the draft deal is my analogy correct or have I missed something.

More like youve got an old Ford Mondeo and have been sent into A Porsche dealership to do a straight swap. When they only offer you a rusty old Skoda you are told that no car is better than a bad car and you are better off just walking everywhere

Judging by what the economic experts have been saying (from a purely trading point of view), it would be better to say that you've taken your pretty reliable Hyundai I 30 into the garage looking for a Tesla. You've come out with a new (but the same age) Hyundai I30 but with a commitment to return to the garage for any repairs for a couple of years . But its still a nice car and it runs pretty well.

These Brexit analogies are getting worse.
Is this how James OBrien and David Lammy explain the situation to you all?

I see a rusty old Skoda outside 10 Downing from 29 March 2019 then.Devils_Advocate wrote:More like youve got an old Ford Mondeo and have been sent into A Porsche dealership to do a straight swap. You have a car but it keeps getting vandalized. You take it to the garage and the say they can fix it, as long as they can take all the locks out and allow everyone access to your boot. They charge you the price of the car for the consultation and the price of a new one to allow it back on to the road.

It's a Morris Marina Ital Brexit Deal from a frump with the design sensibility of a hippo.

Like going to buy a mini at Lloyds on North Valley Rd. The salesman (Boris et al) telling you about the great deal on the sparkling model stuck vertically to the dealership.
When you go to pick the car up, you find out the car has no engine, is facing the same way as Brexit and is about to crash without seat belts.
At this point you remember telling everyone about how you had ‘won’.

Pstotto my first car was a shiny green marina with a back vinyl roof inherited from my dad. The fun I had with that when i was a naive teenager. Then I bought a 1.6 Fiat 131 Mirafiori in orange expensive to run and temperamental. My first "grown up " decision everybody warned me against it but i felt so cool. Eventually I had to be sensible and bought a grey chevette van which was practical and cheaper and allowed to be more independent and make a bit of money.Pstotto wrote:It's a Morris Marina Ital Brexit Deal from a frump with the design sensibility of a hippo.
wow maybe this is the parable of brexit?
